According to CCTV News, on August 14th local time,Thailand's Constitutional Court ruled that Prime Minister Setiawan was unconstitutional and dismissed him immediately

On May 16, 40 of the 250 members of the Thai Senate jointly submitted a petition to the Constitutional Court requesting the termination of Prime Minister Setha and then-Minister of the Prime Minister's Office Phichit. The members who signed the petition believed that Phichit's appointment as Minister of the Prime Minister's Office during the cabinet reshuffle violated the law, and Setha, as Prime Minister, was directly responsible and needed to be terminated, so they asked the Constitutional Court to review and rule. On May 21, Phichit resigned as Minister of the Prime Minister's Office.

It is worth noting that Setia has been the Prime Minister of Thailand for less than a year.

According to Xinhua News Agency, on August 22, 2023, Setha, as the prime ministerial candidate nominated by the Pheu Thai Party, won the support of more than half of the members of the joint meeting of the upper and lower houses held that day and was elected as the new Prime Minister of Thailand.

Setha was born in February 1962 and is 62 years old this year. He studied abroad in his early years and went into business after returning to Thailand. He is a successful real estate developer in Thailand. He announced that he would join the Pheu Thai Party at the end of 2022 and become one of the prime ministerial candidates of the Pheu Thai Party in 2023. He can be said to be a dark horse in Thai politics. Setha once said that the COVID-19 pandemic was the fundamental reason that prompted him to enter politics. He witnessed many accumulated problems that broke out during the pandemic and he hoped to take action to change the current situation of social inequality.
