[Global Network Technology Comprehensive Report] On August 14, according to the latest market analysis report from Canalys, global AI PC shipments reached 8.8 million units in the second quarter of 2024, accounting for 14% of total PC shipments in the quarter. This significant growth indicates that the artificial intelligence personal computer (AI PC) market is expanding rapidly, and it is expected that the supply and user adoption rate of AI PCs will increase significantly in the second half of 2024 and beyond.
Ishan Dutt, chief analyst at Canalys, pointed out: "The second quarter of 2024 has injected strong momentum into the AI PC market. With the launch of Copilot+ PC equipped with Qualcomm Snapdragon X series chips and the active layout of Intel and AMD in the field of AI PC, the market outlook is promising." Dutt also mentioned that as processor suppliers and OEMs offer products at more price points, AI PCs are expected to attract a wider customer base.
Apple leads the AI PC market in terms of shipments and market share with its M-series chips for its Mac product line and Neural Engine technology. In addition, AI PC shipments in the Windows space grew 127% month-on-month, with brands such as Lenovo, HP, and Dell driving the growth of AI PCs by launching products equipped with Snapdragon X processors and Core Ultra chipsets.
Dutt emphasized: "AI PCs not only promote the growth of high-end products, but also with the continuous expansion of first and third-party applications, their performance and efficiency advantages will become more obvious." Canalys predicts that AI PC shipments will reach 44 million units in 2024, and are expected to reach 103 million units in 2025.
