Alexander Debenham(Alexander Debenham) is a British painter with profound artistic background and professional training.
Born in 1983, he spent his childhood in the rural village of Constable on the border of Essex and Suffolk and began creating artwork at an early age. Although he studied history at university, he began painting in oils at the age of eighteen and, after working in advertising, decided to train as a professional artist.
He studied at the Charles H. Cecil Studios in Florence, Italy from 2013 to 2015. His training was based on drawing and life drawing, using the century-old technique of seeing-size.
Alexander Debenham draws his greatest inspiration from Dutch Golden Age and English eighteenth-century painting. While portraiture is his current focus, he also produces exquisite still lifes and landscapes.
Working between London and Suffolk, he specialises in custom portraits and still lifes, often combining classical techniques with modern subject matter. Today, Alexander Debenham is an established artist whose work is held in private collections around the world.
