Beijing Business Daily (Reporter Wei Wei) According to the plan, at 8 am on August 13, Tesla CEO Elon Musk was supposed to have a live interview with former US President Donald Trump, and live broadcast it on the X platform through Musk and Trump's personal accounts. However, when the live broadcast time started and users visited the live broadcast room of the two, the system prompted "This live broadcast room is not available." It was not until more than 40 minutes later that the live broadcast platform returned to normal.
Qi'anxin XLab's large-scale threat perception system captured the attack on the X platform at the first time. XLab Malware & Payload platform data showed that four botnet masters from the UK, Germany, and Canada, as well as the recently very active proxy attack group and the traditional reflection attack group launched at least 34 waves of DDoS (distributed denial of service attack) attacks, which lasted 50 minutes and caused the interview to be interrupted for 40 minutes.
After the interview, Musk posted on his X platform account that the X platform had suffered a large-scale DDoS attack. He said: "I apologize for the delayed launch. Unfortunately, our servers have been hit by a large-scale DDoS attack, and all our data lines are saturated... basically hundreds of GB of data are saturated."
