According to reports, TEPCO said it has stopped injecting water into the cooling pool and is conducting an investigation.
TEPCO also said that water containing radioactive materials did not flow into the external environment and there was no problem with the cooling of the nuclear fuel.
According to previous reports, TEPCO launched the eighth batch of nuclear contaminated water discharge into the sea on August 7, with a discharge of about 7,800 tons. Despite strong opposition from both inside and outside Japan, the Japanese government and TEPCO still launched the discharge of nuclear contaminated water from the Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Plant on August 24, 2023. So far, seven batches of nuclear contaminated water have been discharged, with a cumulative discharge of about 55,000 tons.
