IT Home reported on August 14 that Apple's latest iOS 18 and macOS 15 Sequoia beta versions have brought major updates to the iPhone screen projection function. Now, users can manage the iPhone desktop directly on the Mac.
Previously, when the iPhone screen casting function was launched, it did not support desktop management, but this limitation has been lifted. After activating the iPhone screen casting app, users can now enter the shaking mode by clicking and holding the iPhone desktop, just like operating it on the iPhone itself. In this mode,Users can delete, rearrange apps, manage widgets, resize widgets, turn on dark mode icons or enable icon coloring, etc.
IT Home needs to point out that it is still impossible to access the iPhone’s lock screen interface and control center through screen projection, and notifications can only be viewed through the Mac’s notification center.
This new feature has been included in the latest beta versions of iOS 18, iOS 18.1, macOS 15, and macOS 15.1, and users with these system versions can experience this improvement immediately. It is worth mentioning that the iPhone mirroring function is currently not available in the EU region.
