IT Home reported on August 14 that Google Pixel 9 series phones have been released:
Google Pixel 9: $799 (IT Home Note: Currently about RMB 5,735)
Google Pixel 9 Pro: US$999 (currently about RMB 7,170)
Google Pixel 9 Pro XL: $1,099 (currently about RMB 7,888)
Google Pixel 9 Pro Fold: $1,799 (currently about RMB 12,912)
The Pixel 9 is equipped with a 6.3-inch OLED display with FHD+ resolution and 120Hz refresh rate. Compared with the previous generation, it mainly abandons the optical fingerprint sensor and adopts a more reliable ultrasonic fingerprint sensor, while upgrading the Tensor G4 processor.
The Tensor G4 uses one Cortex-X4 core, three A720 and four A520 cores (one less physical core than last year), integrates a more efficient Exynos 5400 baseband, but still uses the Mali-G715 GPU (with a slightly increased frequency).
Like last year, Google will provide 7 years of software updates (operating system and security patches) for this series of models, so it will be one of the first models to be upgraded to Android 15.
In terms of appearance, the biggest difference between Pixel 9 and Pro is that the Pro is equipped with a periscope, while the ordinary Pixel 9 sticks with the classic dual-camera (wide-angle + ultra-wide-angle) configuration.
The phone uses the previous generation 50MP main camera solution (1/1.31-inch Samsung GNK sensor, 1.2µm pixels, supports OIS), and the front lens uses a 10.5MP Samsung sensor with autofocus support.
The ultra-wide-angle lens of this phone has been upgraded to a 50MP Sony IMX858 (1/2.51”), which is stronger than the 12MP (1/2.8”) lens of the Pixel 8 series. In addition, Google has finally enabled 8K video recording (GNK has always supported it) for this series of models.
Although Google does not focus on fast charging performance, the charging speed of Pixel 9 has been significantly improved - it can be charged to 55% in 30 minutes.
Google Pixel 9 is available in four colors: Porcelain White, Rose, Green and Obsidian. It has an aluminum middle frame, Gorilla Glass on the front and back, supports IP68 dust and water resistance, provides a USB-C 3.2 interface, and supports Wi-Fi 6 and millimeter wave 5G.
Compared to the regular version, the Pixel 9 Pro and Pixel 9 Pro XL are equipped with 16GB of memory, up to 1TB of storage space, a 48MP ultra-wide-angle camera and a 48MP 5x optical zoom telephoto lens, a 42MP front selfie camera, and a higher-resolution OLED screen. The LTPO can be as low as 1Hz, and also supports 8K video recording.
The Google Pixel 9 Pro XL is larger than the 9 Pro, has a higher resolution (1440p), a larger battery and faster 37W fast charging, but is otherwise almost identical.
The Pixel 9 Pro Fold is also equipped with Tensor G4, with a 48MP f/1.7 main camera, 10.5MP ultra-wide-angle, and 10.8MP telephoto (5X), but does not support 8K video recording. Both the inner and outer screens use a 10MP front camera.
The Pixel 9 Pro Fold's external screen uses a 6.3-inch 1080p resolution 120Hz refresh rate OLED screen, while the internal screen is an 8-inch LTPO OLED with a resolution of 2076 x 2152.
