On August 13, it was learned that He Bingjiao, who won the silver medal in women's singles badminton at the Paris Olympics, had submitted an application to retire from the national team, which means that He Bingjiao will no longer participate in international competitions. In the latest rankings released by the World Badminton Federation on the same day, He Bingjiao's name was no longer on the list.

It is not clear whether she has officially retired because her relationship is with the local team."
Review of He Bingjiao's key achievements
He Bingjiao, 27, is the second player of the national badminton women's singles. What really made her famous was the 2014 Nanjing Youth Olympic Games. At the age of 17, she fought three games with the World Youth Championship women's singles champion, Japanese star Akane Yamaguchi, and finally reversed and won the Youth Olympic Games championship. "Many times, especially when the game is difficult, I will think of this game, which gives me the confidence to persevere." He Bingjiao said frankly.
After the Youth Olympic Games, He Bingjiao was selected to join the national team and began to compete in international competitions. Although she mostly participated in low-level competitions, she still had outstanding performances, such as winning the China Masters and the Indonesian Masters. In the women's singles competitions of the 13th and 14th National Games, He Bingjiao won the third and second place respectively.
In the world competitions, He Bingjiao won the Sudirman Cup mixed team championship twice with the team in 2021 and 2023, and the Uber Cup women's team championship twice with the team in 2021 and 2024. At the 2023 Hangzhou Asian Games, He Bingjiao won the women's team runner-up and women's singles third place in badminton.
In the women's singles final of the Paris Olympics that ended not long ago, He Bingjiao faced the world's No. 1 female singles player, An Se-young of South Korea. After 52 minutes of fierce battle, He Bingjiao lost to her opponent 0:2 and won the silver medal in the women's singles.
On August 7, He Bingjiao posted a message to bid farewell to the Paris Olympics. She said that she felt very guilty for not being able to continue the Olympic championship for the Chinese women's singles team, and said that South Korean player An Se-young was a role model worthy of all athletes to learn from, and she had nothing to say about losing to such an opponent.
She also thanked all the fans who supported her, "We will continue to walk side by side on the road ahead, and we can do better."
