China Youth Daily Client News (Chen Yu, China Youth Daily, China Youth Network reporter Zhang Qian) From August 11 to 17, Peking Union Medical College Hospital held the theme event of "Beijing-Guizhou Cooperation Tour·Children's Dreams". 30 children from Huichuan District, Zunyi City, Guizhou Province were invited to participate in the summer care class for children of Peking Union Medical College Hospital employees and started their study tour in Beijing.
It is understood that during this year's National People's Congress, Zhang Shuyang, deputy to the 14th National People's Congress and president of Peking Union Medical College Hospital, and Li Ying, deputy to the 14th National People's Congress, secretary of the Party General Branch of Renheyuan Community in Huichuan District, Zunyi City, Guizhou Province, and director of the neighborhood committee, reached an agreement to invite Guizhou children to participate in the summer care classes for children of Union Medical College employees. When talking about the original intention of inviting Guizhou children to Beijing, Zhang Shuyang said that during the two sessions, she saw Li Ying collecting pencils and tissues in the Great Hall of the People, and carefully sorted and bagged them for preservation. Later, she learned that these were gifts that Li Ying wanted to bring to the children. Zhang Shuyang said: "Inviting you to Beijing is inseparable from the support of the entire leadership team of Union Medical College. This is also a gift from Peking Union Medical College Hospital to you!"
According to reports, the 30 Guizhou children came from remote towns in Huichuan, including Shanpen Town, Songlin Town, and Zhima Town. Some of them had parents who were migrant workers, some were from families registered in the poverty alleviation database, and some were from families relocated for poverty alleviation. There were also students with good character and academic performance who had won the honorary title of "Little Pioneer of the Famous City and Little Master of the Community" in Renheyuan Community. These children had never been to Beijing before.
During the week-long public welfare study and research activity sponsored by the Peking Union Medical College Foundation, the children will experience the charm of the health care industry, visit the Union Medical College History Museum and medical records exhibition, and will also visit the National Major Scientific and Technological Infrastructure for Translational Medicine, the National Key Laboratory for Difficult and Rare Diseases, and participate in the Union Medical College First Aid Youth Camp training; in addition, they will go to Tiananmen Square to watch the flag-raising ceremony, visit the Peking University Red Building, tour the Beijing Central Axis, and appreciate the culture of the capital.
