Lin Jian stressed that Huangyan Island is China's inherent territory and China has indisputable sovereignty over Huangyan Island and its surrounding sea and airspace.

On August 7 and 8, Philippine military aircraft intruded into the airspace near Huangyan Island twice, seriously infringing on China's sovereignty and seriously violating international law and basic norms governing international relations. The Chinese military took necessary measures in accordance with the law, and the on-site operations were professional and standardized, in line with China's domestic law and international law. It should be pointed out that the Philippines sent military aircraft to intrude into China's airspace over Huangyan Island during the so-called joint patrol in the South China Sea with the United States, Australia and Canada, which was a malicious provocation with ulterior motives.

China warns the Philippines to immediately stop its infringing and provocative actions in Huangyan Island and not to act recklessly. China will continue to take resolute measures in accordance with the law to firmly safeguard its territorial sovereignty and maritime rights and interests.
