This morning, Hideo Shimizu, a former member of Unit 731, came to the site of the Japanese Army's Unit 731 invading China after 79 years and confessed his sins in front of the "Monument of Apology and Peace without War".
Shimizu Hideo is 94 years old this year. In March 1945, at the age of 14, he was drafted as a young soldier and sent to the headquarters of the Japanese invaders' Unit 731 in Harbin. On August 14, 1945, he fled back to Japan with the Japanese troops.
Jin Chengmin, director of the Exhibition Hall of Evidence of Crimes of Unit 731 of the Japanese Invaders in China, said: "Shimizu Hideo is very likely the last former member of Unit 731 to return to Harbin to confess his crimes."
Previously, Shimizu Hideo wrote that "historical facts cannot be covered up. I am determined to return to the site of the former Japanese Army Unit 731 in my lifetime to express my deepest apologies to the Chinese people who were harmed. I also hope to arouse more people's reflection and vigilance, cherish the hard-won peace, and avoid the recurrence of war tragedies."
CCTV News previously reported that while in Harbin, Shimizu Hideo witnessed the brutal and heinous atrocities committed by the Japanese Army's Unit 731.Former Unit 731 members confess
In recent years, the problem of minors' game addiction and recharge has attracted social attention. What are the characteristics of minors' current gaming behaviors, and what are their motivations and driving forces? What do parents know about their minors' gaming behaviors, and how can parents better participate in protecting minors? Beijing Think Tank launched an online survey to explore and analyze how to better provide protection for minors.

From July 23, 2024 to August 6, 2024, the Beijing Think Tank launched an online survey for parents and minors aged 8 to 18. The survey found that minors showed high diversity and complexity in their gaming behaviors. Their main motivation for playing online games is entertainment, relaxation and the pursuit of a sense of achievement, but some minors also play games for socializing or escaping from real-life pressures. Parents have a more significant influence on minors' gaming behavior. Most parents of minors understand their gaming habits and will limit gaming time and discuss game recharge issues. However, some families lack understanding and attention to minors' gaming behavior, and family communication and management need to be further strengthened.
Yuan Pingfang, deputy director of the Political and Legal Publicity and Public Opinion Research Center of China University of Political Science and Law, told the Beijing News that online game companies are the first line of defense to protect minors from game addiction. Companies must strictly abide by national policies and regulations on the protection of minors and ensure that all users register and log in through the real-name verification system. Access to real-name verification systems, such as the anti-addiction real-name verification system launched by the State Press and Publication Administration, requires users to provide real and valid identity information. This can not only effectively identify underage users, but also ensure that their gaming time and consumption are strictly restricted.
In preventing minors from becoming addicted to online games, the role of family and society is equally important. Only through comprehensive management of family education and social support can we effectively guide minors to use online games reasonably and grow up healthily.
In terms of protecting minors from online games, policy formulation and implementation play a key role. However, the effectiveness of policies depends on continuous optimization and adjustment in practice. Only by continuously improving policies and practices can we build a more sound protection system for minors from online game addiction and recharge chaos.Special Topic>>>

The owner of the car did not have time to avoid it, and the wheels ran over the child, leaving a large bloodstain on the ground.
The video shows that after the boy fell, he was run over by a car in the opposite lane, and his head and ears were bleeding. His father shouted: "Hold on, don't scare me." The dashcam of the car involved showed that the car was traveling at a speed of about 52km/h, and there were cyclists on both sides of the car at the time of the accident. Some media reported that the child who was run over was only 11 years old. Several other netizens said that the section of the road where the accident occurred was a motor vehicle lane, and the speed of the cycling group at that time was suspected to be 37km/h, but this statement has not been confirmed. At present, the relevant investigation is still ongoing.
The "Implementation Regulations of the Road Traffic Safety Law of the People's Republic of China" stipulates that drivers of bicycles and tricycles must be at least 12 years old, and drivers of electric bicycles and motorized wheelchairs for the disabled must be at least 16 years old.
During the summer vacation, students are prone to traffic accidents. Children may encounter danger when traveling because of their weak risk awareness and self-protection ability and their guardians' negligence. According to media reports, on the evening of August 11, a chat record circulated online showed that a bow and arrow wounding incident occurred in Linyi, Shandong. On the 12th, the Shandong Tancheng police reported that the suspect had been arrested.
In recent years, incidents of people being injured by bows and arrows have occurred frequently. In June 2022, in Xi'an, Shaanxi, a 64-year-old woman was shot through the left eye by an arrow while walking in a community; in April 2022, in Yiyang, Hunan, a five-year-old girl was shot in the middle of her eyebrows by another child with a bow and arrow; in October 2020, in Julu, Hebei, a man had an argument with another person and shot the other person with a bow and arrow purchased online...
Some archery enthusiasts have said that ordinary people tend to underestimate the power of bows, and even those who use bows frequently are surprised by the lethality of bows. One archery enthusiast once used a 24-pound ordinary recurve bow to practice at home, and shot through a radiator with one arrow; another enthusiast revealed that he used a 30-pound practice recurve bow + round-head practice arrow, and shot through a double-layer aluminum sheet house and a large steel cylinder fire extinguisher when he missed the target.
A lawyer once said that non-mechanical bows and arrows (recurve bows, compound bows) are not within the scope of management of public security organs, but mechanical bows and arrows (such as crossbows) are a kind of equipment with strong lethality and are strictly controlled by the state. The "Notice of the Ministry of Public Security on Further Strengthening the Public Security Management of Crossbows" stipulates that crossbow manufacturers can only sell crossbows to approved users and are strictly prohibited from selling to individuals.More News丨Bows and arrows are used to injure people again. Will Iran launch a war of revenge against Israel? If the fighting between Iran and Israel breaks out again, not only will the situation in the Middle East get out of control, but it will also affect broader aspects such as the international crude oil market, the Saudi-Israeli reconciliation process and even the US election.

According to CCTV News, on August 12 local time, John Kirby, spokesman for the White House National Security Council, said that Iran could launch a "major" attack on Israel as early as this week. US President Biden called the leaders of France, Germany, Italy and the United Kingdom that day to discuss the growing tensions.
Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei has vowed to retaliate against Israel since Hamas Political Bureau Chairman Haniyeh was assassinated in Tehran on July 31. However, due to the delay in taking action, the outside world once suspected that Iran had no determination to retaliate.
Earlier reports said Iran was considering canceling its plan to retaliate against Israel in exchange for a ceasefire in Gaza. Israeli intelligence also believed that international pressure and internal debates might force Iran to postpone, limit or reduce its retaliation against Israel. Now it seems that Iran's war of retaliation against Israel is inevitable.
The current situation is that the conflict between Iran and Israel has merged with the conflict between Palestine and Israel, and the various Shiite armed forces and Hamas have in fact stood together against Israel. Under such circumstances, the Sunni countries in the Middle East will probably take a neutral attitude towards Iran's possible retaliatory actions. The US strategy of using Sunni countries to contain Iran and other Shiite forces in the past is unlikely to work this time.Iran's revenge on Israel will have an impact far beyond the Middle East | Jingniangguan
