Sun Changjian, secretary of the Huaiyin District Committee, introduced that last year, the regional GDP exceeded 80 billion yuan, achieving the "first class" result in the comprehensive performance assessment of all districts and counties in the city. The ranking among the 136 districts and counties in the province improved from 89th to 14th, ranking first in the province in terms of improvement. It also won 14 honors at or above the provincial level, including the province's "High-quality Development Improved County", the National Ecological Civilization Construction Demonstration Zone, and the National Medical and Nursing Integration Demonstration Zone.
In the first half of this year, the district's economy has been under pressure and moving forward, maintaining stability and improving. Among the 18 major economic indicators, 12 indicators have increased year-on-year, 10 indicators have grown faster than the city's average, and 9 indicators are among the top five in the city (three indicators, including turnover of accommodation industry above the limit, fixed asset investment, and commercial housing sales area, ranked among the top three in the city; six indicators, including real estate development investment, general public budget revenue, sales of wholesale industry above the limit, operating income of above-scale service industries involved in accounting, industrial investment, and total import and export volume, ranked 4-5 in the city). In particular, the growth rate of general public budget revenue has ranked among the top 6 in the city for 7 consecutive months, and the scale of revenue has ranked among the top 5 in the city for 5 consecutive months. High-quality development has achieved more obvious and substantial results.
