Hangzhou——This internet celebrity city, which has been hailed as the "capital of e-commerce" due to the rapid rise of its internet industry, had a landmark incident on Monday: an office building security guard asked a female food delivery driver to kneel down and called her a dog.

We are of the same root, so why are we so eager to fight each other?

The video shows that on the afternoon of August 12, near the Greentown Xixi Century Center in Hangzhou, some delivery riders demanded an apology from the property security guard.

It is said that a female college student delivery rider parked her bike on a nearby sidewalk while delivering food during the lunch rush hour. She accidentally stepped on the green belt guardrail and knocked it down. The security guard then pulled out the delivery rider's bike keys and demanded that the rider compensate for the loss. The keys were only returned to her after the rider knelt down.

After the picture of the rider kneeling was circulated among the local riders, some riders went to Xixi Century Center to ask the property management to apologize. During the period, they sang a very famous Chinese song.

There were many people at the scene, including law enforcement officers and ambulances.

The incident occurred in Jiangcun Street, Yuhang District, Hangzhou, which is home to many Internet-based startups. A staff member of the Street Office told the reporter of Dahe Daily and Henan Video "See" that "the delivery rider is the key party involved in the incident and has not yet come forward. There are different versions of the discussion about the incident online, and the specific cause needs to be confirmed after investigation and notification."

"First Financial Daily" quoted a netizen's description, saying that a female rider was delivering food but there was no road to the destination by the river, so the delivery person stopped the car and went through the green belt. When she came out, she stepped on the fence. The property management saw that the fence had fallen and pulled out the key of her electric bike, and said that she would be fined 200 yuan. The delivery person knelt down in a hurry because she had orders on hand.

But there is another version of the story that says the security guard turned into an environmentalist and not only fined the female rider 200 yuan, but also asked her to kneel down.

There is currently no authoritative information to determine whether kneeling was a stress response under pressure or whether the person was ordered to kneel by security guards.

Many riders at the scene demanded that the security guard involved kneel down and apologize.

The reason why this matter is important is that it intersects and brings together many hot issues that have long been of concern to Chinese society: the connection between online and offline business models; the abuse of power by community security guards; the problem that property service companies, as service providers, sometimes have the upper hand over their service recipients, etc.

The most crucial point is that as a visible labor group, deliverymen are often prone to collapse under the time pressure of platform orders. When they are running on the road against time, their rights are often not effectively "seen" by society. They cannot enter the community gate, their electric bikes will be confiscated, and so on.

Instead of getting an apology, some deliverymen who went to Greentown Xixi Century Center that day found that their delivery accounts had been frozen for three months.

The difficult experiences of deliverymen reflect the fragile side of the nerve endings of Chinese society.

A delivery man said in the video, "A senior delivery man will hardly smile, because the upward corners of his mouth have been bent by life."
