In this ancient and magical land of Jinzhong, the courtyard culture is like a shining pearl, inlaid in the long river of history. Among these numerous courtyards, the Wang Family Courtyard located in Jingsheng Town, east of Lingshi County is particularly famous, and has become a treasure of Chinese traditional residential culture with its exquisite "three carvings" art.
Midsummer has passed, but the heat has not yet subsided. Stepping into the Wang Family Courtyard, it feels like traveling through time and space and arriving in a cool world. The blue bricks and black tiles of the ancient house look particularly simple under the scorching sun. The towering ancient trees, green shades, and cicada chirping in the courtyard add a bit of vitality to this ancient courtyard.
"This is the Wang Family Courtyard, a magnificent building that has been built over 300 years during the Ming and Qing dynasties. It integrates the essence of thousands of courtyards and fully displays the beauty of traditional Chinese architectural art." Yin Xiongzhuo, office director of the Wang Family Courtyard Scenic Area Management Office and a senior employee, has been telling stories with passion and emotion for more than 20 years, making every brick and tile in this courtyard seem to be given life and full of historical charm.
Following the flow of people, we came to a tall gatehouse with lanterns hanging on it. It was a three-story brick gatehouse with big red lanterns hanging high, as if telling the story of the former bustle and prosperity. This is Gaojia Cliff, one of the "Five Forts" of Wang Family Compound.
