On the evening of August 7, 2024, Wang Jiajia, deputy director of the case filing court and first-level judge of our court, was unfortunately killed in revenge by the criminal suspect Dang Moumou.

According to the investigation by the public security organs of Yancheng District, Luohe City, at 18:26 on August 7, 2024, the public security organs received a report that someone was stabbed at the elevator entrance on the second floor of the underground parking lot of a community. The public security organs immediately rushed to the scene and found that Judge Wang Jiajia of our court had been stabbed in the neck with a knife and had no vital signs. After checking the relevant video, the perpetrator was the plaintiff Dang Moumou (male, 50 years old, a resident of the urban area of ​​Luohe City, unmarried) in the road traffic accident damage compensation case handled by Judge Wang Jiajia. At about 3:00 on August 8, 2024, the public security organs arrested Dang Moumou at his home. When he was arrested, Dang Moumou had taken poison out of fear of crime and was in a coma. After being sent to the hospital for treatment, he was no longer in danger of life. The case is still under further investigation.

The higher court organized a review of the road traffic accident damage compensation case filed by Dang Moumou. The trial and judgment of the case are as follows:

On April 4, 2024, the two-wheeled electric vehicle driven by Dang Moumou (purchased in 2021, priced at 1,800 yuan) collided slightly with the small passenger car driven by Li Moumou, causing minor injuries to Dang Moumou's left ankle joint and left wrist joint. According to the accident responsibility determination of the traffic police department, Li Moumou was fully responsible for the accident and Dang Moumou was not responsible. Because the two parties failed to reach a settlement, on July 4, 2024, Dang Moumou filed a lawsuit with our court, requesting that the defendant Li Moumou and a property insurance company insured by Li Moumou compensate him for various losses such as medical expenses of 18,832.93 yuan. Upon Dang Moumou's application, the local judicial bureau appointed an assistance lawyer for him. The case was handled by Judge Wang Jiajia. After an open trial, based on the scope of losses confirmed by Dang Moumou in the traffic accident responsibility determination and the evidence provided by both parties, all the losses claimed by Dang Moumou, such as medical expenses and rescue expenses, were supported; because he was not actually hospitalized for the last 14 days of his 29 days in hospital, the doctor only prescribed 1 box of oral pain-relieving capsules and 3 boxes of external pain-relieving plasters. Combined with the traffic police department's determination that Dang Moumou's injuries were minor and the defendant's defense, it was decided to calculate the hospitalization meal allowance, nutrition expenses, nursing expenses, loss of work, and transportation expenses based on 15 days; other property losses that lacked evidence were not supported in accordance with the law. Therefore, on July 23, a property insurance company was ordered to compensate Dang Moumou for various losses of 9,384.89 yuan within the liability limit of compulsory traffic insurance.
