The Education University of Hong Kong (EdUHK) issued a press release on the 11th stating that Paris Olympic synchronized swimming champions Wang Liuyi and Wang Qianyi have been admitted to the Education University's Doctor of Education (Chinese Class) and have received the university's special scholarship for outstanding athletes established in 2024. They have completed the enrollment registration procedures earlier and will officially become students of the Education University in September this year.

It is understood that the two sisters will combine their sports majors to conduct more in-depth theoretical exploration and research during their doctoral studies. The Education University will provide all-round support for the two Olympic gold medalists, allowing them to not only enroll in relevant courses but also better adapt to campus life.
EdUHK President Lee Chi-kin, the Department of Health and Physical Education, and all EdUHK teachers and students congratulated Wang Liuyi and Wang Qianyi on their outstanding achievements in this Olympics. It is understood that the Education University of Hong Kong is an "elite athlete-friendly university" that is committed to providing elite athletes with a special admission mechanism and flexible learning packages, encouraging athletes to develop in both sports and academic research. The university is also the first University Grants Committee-funded institution to sign a memorandum of cooperation with the Hong Kong Sports Institute, providing elite athletes with opportunities to attend university and continue their studies. Since 2010, the Education University has admitted nearly 140 elite athletes to different courses. In this Olympics, a total of 9 students and alumni of the Education University have qualified to participate.
