This year marks the 75th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China. The Party Central Committee has decided to conduct a centralized selection and awarding of national medals and national honorary titles to solemnly commend a group of meritorious and exemplary figures who have made outstanding contributions to the construction and development of New China. Wang Yongzhi, Wang Zhenyi, Li Zhensheng, and Huang Zongde have been recommended as candidates for the "Medal of the Republic". Wang Xiaomo, Bayika Kailidibek, Tian Hua, Xu Zhenchao, Zhang Zhuoyuan, Zhang Jinfan, Zhang Xielin, Zhao Zhongxian, Huang Danian, and Lu Shengmei have been recommended as candidates for national honorary titles.

Wang Yongzhi
Wang Yongzhi, male, Han nationality, member of the Communist Party of China, born in November 1932, died in June 2024, from Changtu, Liaoning Province, former chief designer of the 921 Project of the General Armament Department, academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, and member of the 11th National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference. He is one of the pioneers of my country's manned space program, presided over the development of multiple types of missiles and rockets in my country, and participated in the formulation of China's manned space development blueprint, making outstanding contributions to the modernization of national defense and manned spaceflight. He was awarded the honorary title of "Manned Space Meritorious Scientist", the National Highest Science and Technology Award, the National Science and Technology Progress Award Special Award, and the title of "National Outstanding Communist Party Member".
Wang Zhenyi
Wang Zhenyi, male, Han nationality, non-party person, born in November 1924, from Xinghua, Jiangsu Province, former president of Shanghai Second Medical University, former director of Shanghai Institute of Hematology, lifelong professor of Ruijin Hospital, academician of Chinese Academy of Engineering, and deputy to the Seventh National People's Congress. He is a famous medical scientist and medical educator. He successfully realized a new clinical treatment strategy for leukemia by transforming malignant cells into benign cells, laid the clinical foundation for the theory of induced differentiation, and established the "Shanghai Plan" for the treatment of "acute promyelocytic leukemia", making a significant contribution to medical practice and theoretical innovation. He gave up applying for drug patents and selflessly disclosed treatment plans to benefit more patients. He has been fighting on the front line of medical education for many years and cultivated a large number of outstanding medical talents. He won the National Highest Science and Technology Award.
Li Zhensheng
Li Zhensheng, male, Han nationality, member of the Communist Party of China, born in February 1931 in Zibo, Shandong Province, former vice president of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, and member of the 8th and 9th National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference. He is the founder of wheat distant hybridization breeding in my country and an expert in agricultural development strategy. He systematically studied the distant hybridization of wheat and Elytrinum vulgaris and bred the "Xiaoyan" series of varieties, creating a precedent for the large-scale promotion of distant hybrid wheat varieties in production. He created a new system for blue-grained monomer wheat and chromosome engineering breeding, and opened up a new breeding direction for efficient utilization of phosphorus and nitrogen nutrition in wheat. He organized and implemented the "Huanghuaihai Campaign" of agricultural science and technology, proposed and promoted the construction of the "Bohai Granary" project, and played an important role in promoting my country's grain production and ensuring national food security. He won the National Highest Science and Technology Award, the first prize of the National Technological Invention Award, and the title of "National Model Worker".
Huang Zongde
Huang Zongde, male, Han nationality, member of the Communist Party of China, born in August 1931, Rongcheng, Shandong, former deputy division-level consultant of the 52824th Unit of the Chinese People's Liberation Army. He joined the army at the age of 17 and devoted himself to the revolution. He participated in the Battle of Crossing the Yangtze River, the Suppression of Bandits in Jiangxi, and the War to Resist U.S. Aggression and Aid Korea. He charged in many battles and fought hard to defend his country. He was a brave and tenacious combat hero who was not afraid of sacrifice. He was awarded the "Second Class Combat Hero" and the Victory Merit Medal of Honor, and was awarded the first-class merit and the second-class merit once each. He was awarded the "First Class National Flag Medal" by North Korea.

Bayika Kailidibek
Bayika Kailidibek, male, Tajik, member of the Communist Party of China, born in May 1952, native of Taxkorgan, Xinjiang, former border guard of Tiznapu Township, Taxkorgan Tajik Autonomous County, Xinjiang. On the Pamir Plateau, three generations of Bayika's family have guarded the border for 70 years, pointing the way for officers and soldiers in the life-forbidden zone. Since he followed his father to serve as a guide for border guards in 1972, he has patrolled more than 700 times in 37 years, traveled more than 30,000 kilometers, and helped border guards to turn danger into safety time and time again. He is a "living map" in the eyes of officers and soldiers. His son Razini continued to guard the border and unfortunately died heroically to rescue a child who fell into an ice cave. He was awarded the title of "National Model Individual for National Unity and Progress".

Zhang Jinfan
Zhang Jinfan, male, Han nationality, member of the Communist Party of China, born in July 1930 in Longkou, Shandong Province, former vice president of China University of Political Science and Law, honorary dean of the Institute of Legal History, lifelong professor and doctoral supervisor of China University of Political Science and Law. He is a famous jurist and legal educator in my country, the main founder and outstanding representative of the discipline of Chinese legal history in New China, and his research results have laid the theoretical foundation and structural paradigm of the discipline of Chinese legal history. He is an internationally renowned strategic scientist, a famous geophysicist in my country, and an outstanding representative of returned scientific researchers. Lu Shengmei

She responded to the call of the party and came to the grassroots hospital in the old revolutionary base area of Northwest China.
