The home improvement project that lasted more than three years is finally coming to an end. Looking at the entire community that has been renewed, I feel sincerely happy.

Home Improvement Program, or HIP, is a government-funded renovation program for old HDB flats. Fortunately, the HDB estate where I live was selected to join the program, and after a referendum in the community, more than 85% of residents agreed. After the program was approved, our entire community was renovated.

For example: the community's public environment, ground, mailbox, pavilion, fitness corner, badminton court, children's playground. Paint the exterior walls of the HDB flats, corridors, and stairwell walls. In addition, new elevators, wires, water pipes, and toilets in the HDB flats were replaced. The most commendable thing is that stainless steel, retractable clothes drying racks were installed on the balconies of every household, making it safer and more convenient to dry clothes.

Except for the renovation of the toilet, installation of clothes drying rack, replacement of wooden doors and anti-theft doors, which require payment, all other public facilities are free. For the renovation projects inside the house, except for the clothes drying rack, which is a must-choose project (this is mainly to ensure that the appearance of the HDB flats in this area is unified and beautiful), the rest of the projects can be chosen by the homeowners.

For Singaporean citizens, who can enjoy government subsidies, it only costs 450 SGD to renovate a toilet, while permanent residents need to pay the full fee of 4,500 SGD. Although the difference is quite large, it is still much cheaper than private decoration companies outside. The most important thing is to save worry and peace of mind, without worrying about anything, and there is no need to worry about the decorator taking the money and running away, and the project being left unfinished. After the toilet is renovated, if there are any problems within one year, the decoration company will repair it free of charge, and all the costs of decorating the toilet and installing the clothes drying rack will be paid after one year of use. Thumbs up for the home improvement plan and the reliable project!
