On August 11, the first meeting of 100 talented people from Beijing and Zhejiang was held in Hangzhou.

The meeting was jointly hosted by Zhejiang New Era Beijing-Zhejiang Talent Collaborative Development Center, Red Flag Publishing House and Zhejiang Big Data Trading Center. As the first chairman of Zhejiang New Era Beijing-Zhejiang Talent Collaborative Development Center, Zheng Weimin, an academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, attended the meeting and delivered a speech.

Academician Zheng Weimin is from Ningbo, Zhejiang. He said: "Beijing has obvious resource advantages in education, science and technology, and talent. How can we make full use of Beijing's resources and work together to help Zhejiang, our hometown, achieve high-quality development? This is what we Zhejiang people in Beijing are always thinking about."

"To this end, we held the Beijing-Zhejiang Talent Hundred People Meeting, which not only built a high-level, cross-domain, sustainable communication and cooperation platform and a stage for talents from Beijing and Zhejiang to showcase their talents, but also assisted the strategic coordination between Beijing and Zhejiang in talent development, scientific and technological innovation, industrial upgrading, and cultural heritage. It also encouraged talents to showcase their latest research results and technology transfer and application results, and promoted the accelerated transformation of scientific and technological achievements. It also promoted talents, colleges and universities, enterprises, local governments and other entities to conduct accurate and effective supply and demand matching, and actually helped all parties involved in supply and demand to solve practical problems encountered in development." Academician Zheng said.

As a well-known expert in the field of supercomputing, his speech was humorous and every word was about his main field: data, network and computing power.

He said: "I am a computer scientist, and the theories are too profound. I will talk about some cases and the direction of industry development to see if Zhejiang enterprises can find some business opportunities from them."

Academician Zheng Weimin delivered a speech

The first case he talked about was the entrepreneurial story of an information and innovation company in Ningbo. This company broke into the information and innovation track, but because its technology was very ordinary, it was very tiring and difficult at first. Later, the company's head found the team of Academician Zheng from Tsinghua University. "After in-depth discussions, we finally made three machines, which helped this company solve data analysis, large model automation acceptance and authenticity problems. Now, this company has reached the world's advanced level in the industry." He said, "This also shows that talent resources are the first priority in accelerating the formation of new quality productivity."

Through cases, Academician Zheng also gave four sub-tracks related to data and computing power, namely: network transmission speed, delay time problems in data transmission, software compatibility and interoperability problems, and large model ecosystem problems. He said: "Zhejiang companies can come to the list, these four sub-tracks have unlimited potential. Any of these tracks, as long as they can be solved faster, more useful, and safer, can definitely become the leader in the industry."

"I sincerely hope that through this 'Beijing-Zhejiang Talents 100 People' event, we can jointly explore a new path for digital talents to empower the development of new quality productivity and contribute our wisdom and strength to the development of the digital economy in Zhejiang Province and even the whole country." Academician Zheng said.
