Da Wan News In 2019, Tian Yuan, who was about to enter the third year of junior high school, had symptoms such as cervical pain and nosebleeds. After going to the hospital for examination, he was diagnosed with a serious tumor. This sudden condition was like a bolt from the blue for him and his family. However, the disease did not defeat this boy from Jinzhai, Lu'an. Although chemotherapy interrupted his studies, he faced it all with an optimistic and strong attitude. After entering high school, he studied while receiving treatment.
"As long as you don't lose hope, there will be a bright future ahead." Tian Yuan recently told a reporter from Da Wan News about his experience of overcoming negativity and moving towards the sun. In this year's college entrance examination, Tian Yuan was admitted to Beijing University of Posts and Telecommunications with a score of 648 (physics subject combination).
He struggled with himself when the disease struck him
To this day, Tian Yuan still clearly remembers what happened during the summer vacation of 2019. At that time, he went to the hospital several times because of physical problems, but the cause was not found at the beginning. Tian Yuan's mother, Ms. Chen, recalled to the Da Wan News reporter that the child said that the cervical vertebra hurt at first, and the ear hurt the second time. At that time, these were not taken too seriously. Later, the child began to have symptoms such as nosebleeds, and went to the hospital for examination. In September 2019, Tian Yuan was promoted to the third grade for about a week. He felt very bad when listening to classes and communicating normally with people, and others found that his mouth was a little crooked. These situations attracted the attention of Tian Yuan's family.
Tian Yuan's father was working away from home, and because Tian Yuan was in the third year of junior high school, his mother stayed in his hometown to accompany him. After the tumor was diagnosed in Hefei, the doctor asked, "Your child is so seriously ill, do you still want to go to school?" Tian Yuan's parents realized the severity of the disease, and the sudden change cast a shadow over the family.

At the doctor's suggestion, Tian Yuan took a year off from school and traveled to Beijing, Anhui, Guangdong and other places to seek medical treatment. He underwent chemotherapy for more than half a year. Now, Tian Yuan still has to rely on medication to control his condition, and he needs to be reexamined every six months. In the interview, Tian Yuan said that his condition has improved, but he still clearly feels some hearing problems and has a heavy nasal tone when speaking.
"After the diagnosis of the tumor, I was a little overwhelmed." Tian Yuan admitted that the treatment process was very difficult, especially chemotherapy. After completing the procedures for taking a leave of absence from school, he focused on medical treatment. But for a while, Tian Yuan's inner world was a little negative. After entering high school, Tian Yuan often took leave to rest at home because of physical reasons. He kept taking medicine and going to the hospital for checkups. "Sometimes I do feel a deep sense of powerlessness." Tian Yuan said that fortunately, his family cared and encouraged him a lot of the time, "I gritted my teeth and cheered up."
Facing difficulties with strength, understanding the difficulties of parents
The father who works away from home, the mother who has no source of income to accompany the child to see the doctor, and the strong Tian Yuan, this family is heartbreaking. Tian Yuan's mother, Ms. Chen, blames herself for her child's illness. In the eyes of his parents, Tian Yuan has always been a very sensible child who understands the difficulties of the family. After the diagnosis of the disease, Tian Yuan did not lose his temper, but often comforted his mother not to worry too much.

"The child is very strong. During the hospitalization for chemotherapy, he endured the pain by himself and his mentality was very good." When talking about some of the situations during Tian Yuan's treatment, his mother, Ms. Chen, revealed her son's strong performance in her words.
After Tian Yuan returned to school, his mother, who accompanied him to school, was worried that he would be negative, so she would always find some topics to chat with him. During this process, the mother and son would communicate about many things. This Mother's Day, Tian Yuan secretly hid the flowers he bought behind his schoolbag and went home to give his mother a surprise. This was the first time Tian Yuan gave flowers to his mother. His mother had given a lot for him and the family. Seeing his hard-working mother smile, he was also very happy.
I persisted in studying while receiving treatment no matter how difficult it was.
Faced with a serious illness, Tian Yuan did not choose to give up studying. He used his strength and optimism to fight the disease tenaciously. Although he can continue to go to school after treatment, Tian Yuan has to take a leave every week for checkups. After entering high school, his mother is worried that this will delay his studies. "His teachers are all very good, especially the head teacher. Every time he takes a leave and comes back, the teacher will make up for the missed classes for him individually and is very patient." Ms. Chen said, especially thanking the head teacher Mr. Wang who has always cared about Tian Yuan, and other teachers and classmates.

Tian Yuan, who has loved studying since childhood, had to interrupt his studies several times due to treatment, but after returning to school, he worked hard to overcome the difficulties he encountered in his studies. Because of his illness, Tian Yuan has some problems with hearing, which makes it difficult for him to listen to English, but even so, Tian Yuan still scored 131 points in English in this year's college entrance examination.
Classmates in the class were also concerned about Tian Yuan's condition. When he returned from a half-year absence for treatment, many classmates were very surprised to see him before leaving school after the junior high school entrance examination. They also took photos with him. "Until now, I still keep in touch with many junior high school classmates. They took the college entrance examination a year earlier than me and would share some things about college with me." Tian Yuan said that when he entered high school, many classmates helped him. "I remember one time, when I came to school the next day, my deskmate directly copied my class notes. I was very touched."
"As long as you don't lose hope, there will be light at the end of the tunnel"
Hard work pays off. In this year's college entrance examination, Tian Yuan scored 648 points (physics subject combination) and was successfully admitted to Beijing University of Posts and Telecommunications. Speaking of the college entrance examination, Tian Yuan said that his parents worked very hard and he would continue to study hard after entering university. His father worked in Beijing and only came home during the Chinese New Year. By being admitted to a university in Beijing, the family can be reunited in Beijing.
Recalling the treatment and the difficult past, Tian Yuan has been relieved. As for the future, he has already planned his university life. "In addition to studying, I want to do some public welfare work and volunteer activities." Facing the changes in life, Tian Yuan, who has cheered up, said, "As long as you don't lose hope, there will be light at the end of the tunnel."
