Huang Xuemei takes a photo with the Eiffel Tower
At 3 a.m. Beijing time on August 11, the 2024 Paris Olympic Games mass marathon officially started.
Huang Xuemei, the "No. 1 Marathon Runner" from Xiamen International Bank, stepped onto the track and achieved an impressive result of first place among women.
This is the first time in Olympic history that a mass marathon has been held. The track is exactly the same as the main race. A total of 40,048 mass runners from around the world have won the lottery, including more than 120 Chinese runners. Huang Xuemei finished the race in 2 hours, 41 minutes and 03 seconds, with the first half taking 1 hour, 19 minutes and 38 seconds, and the second half taking 1 hour, 21 minutes and 25 seconds, becoming the first female runner to cross the finish line.
It is worth mentioning that Gu Ailing also participated in this race. This was her first full marathon and her final finishing time was 3 hours, 24 minutes and 36 seconds.
Huang Xuemei, who just won the first place among women, graduated from Southeast University with a major in computer science. She is a programmer in the Technology Development Department of Xiamen International Bank and also a financial practitioner!

Huang Xuemei writes programs during the day, practices running in her spare time, and participates in a marathon on weekends. She switches back and forth between normal work and life, and participating in competitions.
