Jingchu.com (Hubei Daily Online) (Reporters Liu Shan and Jin Ying) On August 8, the Xiangyang Disabled Persons’ Federation, in conjunction with the disabled people’s culture into the community activities, organized the Municipal Disabled Persons’ Association to hold a theme event "Meet on Qiqiao and Warmth on Chinese Valentine’s Day" at the Sunshine Home (Home for the Disabled) in the Xudong Road Community. More than 60 disabled friends, community residents and volunteers gathered together.
The Qixi Festival, also known as the Qiqiao Festival, is the most romantic traditional festival in China. Qiqiao activities are the most traditional folk activities of the Qixi Festival. In addition to the love story of the Cowherd and the Weaver Girl, you can also make fruit for good fortune, play with pots, and compete with purses for cleverness. At the event, the folklore teacher introduced the origin, legends and customs of the "Qixi Festival" and shared poems and stories related to the Qixi Festival.
In order to let everyone experience traditional folk culture, the event set up an interesting game of pitching arrows. Amid the cheers of "hit the target", more and more arrows were thrown into the pot, winning applause from the whole audience. The duet of two classic love songs, "When Will the Moon Rise" and "The Moon Represents My Heart", made the atmosphere even more intense.

Lacquer fan making is a training course at Sunshine Home (home for the disabled) and is also an auxiliary employment skill. Under the guidance of the staff, everyone put the blank round fan into the dye basin, and with gentle stirring, sinking the fan, shaking, and picking it up... beautiful and freehand patterns appeared on the fan surface, and a unique lacquer fan was successfully made. On the other side, at the rose bouquet making site, after everyone's skillful hands "twisted and turned", a bunch of beautiful roses appeared. In this romantic traditional festival, it shows the charm of traditional culture and conveys everyone's good wishes for life.

In the "Speak and Express Love" session, 12 veteran party members, volunteers, and representatives of disabled families came to the stage to share their love stories of mutual support and work together, their sincere emotions of mutual support and perseverance, and gave each other the gifts they had prepared to express their deep love and blessings.
