630 Hokkaido boxwoods, 8 large-leaf boxwoods, 900 large-leaf boxwood hedges... The green plants of different heights are surrounded by brown antiseptic wood fences. The green belt is more than 40 meters long, and the new green added to the street allows residents living in Building 8, Cuiweixili, Wanshou Road, Haidian District, to see the green when they open the window.I also felt the long-lost tranquility.
Before the renovation, the parking lot outside the window was full of carsA month ago, this was a parking area with 15 parking spaces on the roadside. "This parking area is too close to our building. There is a hospital and a commercial area near us. There is a large flow of people and cars. They often park downstairs. We have to endure exhaust gas and noise pollution every day." At a community public opinion meeting, residents of Building 8, Cuiweixili, talked about their troubles.
Building 8 in Cuiweixili has a permanent population of 92 people, most of whom are in their 80s and 90s. However, the south side of the building is adjacent to the internal road of Cuiweizhongli Community, separated only by an iron hollow fence. On the east side of the road is the Wanshou Road Community Health Service Center, and on the south side is the Wanfang Commercial Center. With more and more patients coming to the hospital for treatment and the opening of several catering companies in the commercial center, this road has become more and more lively, and the parking spaces near the south side of Building 8 are almost always empty. However, the elderly who like quietness are not used to this bustle, especially the residents on the 1st to 3rd floors, who are deeply disturbed by it.
After the transformation is completedIn order to solve the problems raised by residents, Wanshou Road Subdistrict held several consultation meetings with the community and residents' representatives to discuss the improvement of the environment near Building 8. Finally, everyone collectively decided to convert the original parking area on the south side of Building 8 in Cuiweixili into a public green belt. The road surface was demolished, the curbstones were newly built, the planting soil was replaced, the permeable brick cushion layer was laid, and the trails were paved... After nearly a month of construction, the "micro-renovation" outside Building 8 in Cuiweixili was completed. The newly planted green plants and the paved pedestrian trails improved the surrounding environment. In order to prevent vehicles from parking randomly, ball piles were set up outside the pedestrian trails, and the property management guided vehicles to park in the surrounding areas or underground parking lots.
After the transformation is completed"Now there is a green belt downstairs, and looking down from the balcony, all I can see is green. The noise is reduced, and the air is fresher. It's getting greener and quieter outside our window!" This renovation has received unanimous praise from the residents of Building 8, Cuiwei Xili.
