It is reported that this event is not only the first time that Barcelona Basketball Club has come to Hangzhou since 2014, but also the first time that the club has held a pre-season training camp in China. The event has also attracted widespread attention in Spain. By then, the president of the European Basketball Association will also be present to add an international touch to the event. This international basketball summit will also serve as a bridge for China-Europe basketball exchanges and promote the improvement of domestic basketball level and basketball atmosphere.
In this competition, Zhejiang Guangsha Men's Basketball Team will play as the host. Lou Hongyu, Vice Chairman of Zhejiang Guangsha Basketball Club, said: "Guangsha's lineup in recent seasons has been relatively young, and the experience of major competitions is relatively insufficient. This opportunity to play against strong European teams is very valuable for the team. Currently, Guangsha players are training in Serbia. After returning home, participating in such a high-level competition is a test of the team's summer training results and the running-in of the new season lineup. The team coaching staff also attaches great importance to this competition opportunity, hoping to find deficiencies from this peak competition and make better preparations for the new season."
At the press conference, Xu Jicheng, vice chairman of the Chinese Basketball Association, said via video: "The three major sports are important symbols of a strong sports country. In order to better achieve this strategic goal, we must adhere to the concept of shared and open competition, go out and invite in. The Barcelona and Girona clubs participating in this competition are both strong teams in European basketball. Beijing Shougang Basketball Club and Zhejiang Guangsha Basketball Club are also leaders in the CBA League. We look forward to them presenting us with a wonderful basketball feast and bringing new sports hotspots to Hangzhou, the 'City of the Asian Games'."
It is reported that the event is guided by the Chinese Basketball Association and hosted by the Zhejiang Basketball Association. Four exciting matches will be held in three days. On August 31, Zhejiang Guangsha Basketball Club will play against Spain's Girona Basketball Club, and on September 1, Beijing Shougang Basketball Club will play against Spain's Barcelona Basketball Club; the third and fourth place finals will be held on the afternoon of September 2, and the finals will be held in the evening. Tickets for the event were already available on Damai.com on the day of the press conference on August 9. The specific ticketing date and ticket purchase details will be announced later. (End)
