China National Radio Taiyuan reported August 11 (Reporter Lang Qi) Data from the Shanxi Provincial Bureau of Statistics and the Shanxi Survey Team of the National Bureau of Statistics showed that in the first half of the year, agricultural production in Shanxi Province was stable and improving. The province's agriculture, forestry, animal husbandry and fishery (including agriculture, forestry, animal husbandry and fishery services) achieved an added value of 47.433 billion yuan, an increase of 4.8% over the same period last year at comparable prices.

Summer grain harvested again. The total output of summer grain in the province was 2.482 million tons, an increase of 0.5%; the per mu yield of summer grain was 313.5 kilograms, an increase of 2.0%, a record high. Since the beginning of this year, the provincial party committee and government have attached great importance to grain production, and have held many meetings to arrange and deploy work related to grain production. The provincial government has set up a special working group for the "three summer" production to coordinate and promote the "three summer" production work in the province. The provincial finance has allocated 86.37 million yuan to fully guarantee the full coverage of wheat "one spray and three preventions". More than 10,000 agricultural technicians went to villages and households to provide technical services during the critical period of wheat growth and development. Although there was dry and hot wind weather in the late stage of wheat growth, the impact on yield was relatively small under active response and prevention.

Livestock production has shown a good growth momentum. At the end of the second quarter, the province had 8.15 million pigs on hand, up 5.1%. In the first half of the year, 7.385 million pigs were sold, up 8.4%; 370,000 cattle were sold, up 5.2%; and 133.257 million poultry were sold, up 6.8%. The output of four kinds of meat, pork, beef, mutton and poultry, was 932,000 tons, up 8.6%; milk output was 733,000 tons, up 1.3%; and poultry egg output was 630,000 tons, up 5.0%. Shanxi Province implemented a good breed subsidy for 100,000 breeding sows. In eight large beef cattle counties, such as Fangshan and Tianzhen, the basic cow herd expansion and quality improvement action was implemented, which led to a 40% ratio of new calf cows to basic cows and a 10% increase in the number of breeding cows on hand. The dairy production capacity was improved in the whole county, and the construction of four large dairy counties (districts) in Shanyin, Yingxian, Tianzhen and Yungang was promoted. Interest subsidies for loans are provided to 116 dairy business entities to help dairy farmers alleviate their financial difficulties.
