Tanzanian Zanzibar President Mwinyi: Africa-China cooperation will achieve greater success

Xinhua News Agency, Dar es Salaam, August 9 (Reporter Hua Hongli) Hussein Ali Mwinyi, President of Zanzibar, Tanzania, said recently that this year marks the 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Tanzania and China. Over the past 60 years, the Chinese government and people have made great contributions to the development of Tanzania and the entire African region. China-Africa cooperation will achieve greater achievements in the future.
Mwinyi made the above remarks on the 7th when he attended a signing ceremony for innovative pharmaceutical, biological vaccine research and development, and photovoltaic power generation projects invested and built by Chinese companies in Zanzibar, Tanzania.
In his speech, Mwinyi highly praised China's achievements in modernization development, and expressed his great anticipation for the 2024 Forum on China-Africa Cooperation Summit to be held in Beijing, and hoped that Tanzania could attract more investment from China.
It is reported that the Chinese companies that signed the contract are African Biochemical Company and ABC Power Technology Company. The projects invested and constructed by Chinese companies will focus on the research and development and production of innovative drugs and vaccines for common diseases and new infectious diseases in Africa, as well as the provision of photovoltaic technology and equipment to Zanzibar.
