The award ceremony for the women's three-meter springboard diving event at the Paris Olympics on the 9th was like a "Friends" drama. When the gold medalist, Chinese athlete Chen Yiwen, jumped onto the highest podium, the runner-up Australian athlete Gini and the third-place Chinese athlete Chang Yani posed on both sides to welcome the "superstar" to the stage, and the scene was very loving.
"We are all old friends, let's have some fun together." Chang Yani said that this action design was Chen Yiwen's idea, and the three of them hit it off immediately.
"The idea suddenly came to me when we were packing up after the game," said Chen Yiwen.

There were 5 jumps in the final that day, Chen Yiwen always ranked first, Gini ranked second. Chang Yani ranked last after making a mistake in the first jump, but she adjusted her state in time and rose to third after the fourth jump. The three old friends finally stepped onto the podium together.
"This moment is especially precious to the three of us," said Chen Yiwen, who met Gini at the 2017 World Championships. "It's rare to have a friend internationally and compete with you for so many years."

Chang Yani and Gini have known each other for a long time. "It's a kind of fate. We have similar personalities and can play together. (On the field) we also have healthy competition. The three of us have jumped out of our own high level and can also show the charm of competitive sports."
The difficulty coefficient of Gini's last jump in the final was 3.4, which was more difficult than Chen Yiwen and Chang Yani's. The two Chinese players said that they could also complete the same move, but they were not satisfied enough to take it to the competition. Chen Yiwen said that it was Gini who prompted them to strengthen their training for this difficult move.

In the Diving World Cup Finals held in Xi'an in April this year, Chen Yiwen won the gold medal in the women's three-meter springboard, and Gini won the bronze medal, while Chang Yani missed the competition due to injury. At the award ceremony, Gini wore a T-shirt with photos of Chen Yiwen and Chang Yani, which was given to her by Chen Yiwen before the game. The sisters agreed to meet again at the Paris Olympics.
"I feel like they are like my sisters. We have a positive competitive relationship, and it's more fun when friends compete on the same stage. I feel very lucky to share the (award) moment with them," said Gini.
