The Beijing Municipal Bureau of Culture and Tourism hosted three cultural experiences along the Central Axis for Beijing residents and visitors between Aug 3-5.
Recently, the Beijing Municipal Bureau of Culture and Tourism held three consecutive "Walking in Beijing" Central Axis Cultural Exploration Activities, inviting nearly 100 Beijing citizens, tourists to Beijing, inbound tourists, and media experts to participate.
More than 100 people took part in the events organized to draw attention to the historical and cultural value of the axis, which was inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List on July 27.
The Beijing Municipal Bureau of Culture and Tourism has carefully planned this event to celebrate the successful application of Beijing's Central Axis for World Heritage status, to further inherit and promote the culture of the Central Axis, to allow more citizens and tourists to have a deeper understanding of the historical and cultural value of the Central Axis, and to allow the ancient historical context to be reborn in the pulse of the modern city.
Two routes were developed to offer excellent views and vivid explanations of the major historical sites that form the axis.

Having worked in the cultural and tourism sector for many years, cultural lecturer Dou Junjie said he felt that tourists visiting Beijing are developing an increasingly three-dimensional understanding of the capital's culture.
Dou Junjie, a cultural lecturer at the event, said, "After working in the cultural tourism industry for many years, I have clearly felt that the understanding of the cultural connotation of the capital by tourists coming to Beijing and inbound tourists has become more three-dimensional, rich and colorful."
"I hope that more people will take part in such activities to learn about and publicize the Central Axis," Dou said.

The axis covers an area of 589 hectares and has a buffer zone of 4,542 hectares, and is China's 59th World Heritage Site, and Beijing's eighth.

A Central Axis tourism service management plan will be formulated by the end of this year. During the third and fourth quarters, axis-related tourism products will be expanded. In the short term, cultural exploration activities along the Central Axis will be organized to improve routes, update and standardize the explanations given by tour guides, to better serve summer vacationers.
In the next step, the Beijing Municipal Bureau of Culture and Tourism will take "long-term, medium-term and short-term" measures to further optimize tourism services. In the "long term", it will formulate the "Beijing Central Axis Tourism Service Management Plan" before the end of this year. In the "medium term", it will further enrich the supply of tourism products along the Central Axis in the third and fourth quarters of this year. In the "short term", it will hold cultural exploration and experience activities along the Central Axis during the summer tourism peak season, further optimize tourist routes, update and standardize the tour guides of the Central Axis, and at the same time coordinate the safety and order of large numbers of tourists during the summer vacation.
