According to industry media such as China Business Network, on August 9, a Baidu insider revealed that the new Baidu public relations director Jiang Xinjie has now taken up his post and reports to Liang Zhixiang, senior vice president of Baidu Group.

Public information shows that Jiang Xinjie was previously the vice president of public relations at 360 Group. Jiang Xinjie became famous in the 2001 college entrance examination for his perfect essay "The Death of Red Hare" and was later admitted to Nanjing Normal University. After graduation, he worked for China Youth Daily, Alibaba Group's public relations department, Intime Group, etc.

According to a 2017 report by Metropolis Express, Jiang Xinjie once said in an interview that he usually likes to read Romance of the Three Kingdoms and Water Margin, but this is the first time he has actually written an essay in ancient vernacular Chinese. When he was writing this essay in the examination room, the invigilator stood by and watched for a long time. Moreover, during the more than 40 minutes of writing the essay, the invigilator kept walking back and forth, "and suddenly I realized that the invigilator was the first reader of this essay."

The opening paragraph of "The Death of Red Hare" reads: "In the 26th year of Jian'an, 221 AD, Guan Yu fled to Maicheng, was defeated and captured, refused to surrender, and was killed by Sun Quan. His mount, Red Hare, was given to Ma Zhong by Sun Quan..." The whole essay has fluent text and a complete storyline, and is regarded as a classic example of college entrance examination essays.

In 2001, Jiang Xinjie became famous for his role in "The Death of Red Hare" and was admitted to the Department of Radio and Television Journalism of Nanjing Normal University. After graduation in 2005, he signed a contract with China Youth Daily and later became a reporter for the special feature department of Ice Point. In March 2010, his investigative reports on "encircling and cracking down on gutter oil" and "What made the professor who opened the lid on gutter oil change his words" caused a sensation across the country.
