Upstream News reporter learned that starting from August 8, Chongqing Jiangbei International Airport will open international through flights from Chongqing to London and Chongqing to Sydney, allowing transfer passengers to enjoy "one ticket and direct baggage check-in" at the departure airport. Since then, Chongqing Jiangbei International Airport's international through flights have covered five intercontinental routes operated by Hainan Airlines and Tianjin Airlines in Chongqing, including London, Paris, Rome, Madrid and Sydney.

It is reported that with the strong support of Chongqing Jiangbei Airport Customs, Tianjin Airlines has opened the first batch of international through flights, including London⇋Chongqing⇋Shenzhen and London⇋Chongqing⇋Hohhot. From August 13, three more routes will be opened, including Sydney⇋Chongqing⇋Hangzhou, Sydney⇋Chongqing⇋Sanya, and Sydney⇋Chongqing⇋Urumqi/Aksu. In the future, outbound international through flights from Haikou, Hangzhou, and Tianjin to Sydney via Chongqing will be launched one after another.

"International through flights" is a new transit mode launched by China Customs to support the construction of my country's aviation hub port and facilitate the entry and exit of transit passengers. Since the opening of the international through flight business at Chongqing Jiangbei International Airport in June last year, through passengers can receive two boarding passes including the connecting flight segment when checking in at the departure station, and directly collect their luggage at the final destination.

At present, the international through flight business departing from Chongqing has expanded from the initial three cities of Guangzhou, Shenzhen and Haikou to domestic cities such as Fuzhou and Xiamen. The international through flight business entering through Chongqing has been fully opened to all cities in the mainland.

Currently, Chongqing Jiangbei International Airport actually operates 27 international (regional) passenger routes with 155 flights per week, connecting cities such as Seattle, London, Paris, Madrid, Rome, Milan, Budapest, Sydney, Doha, Dubai, Singapore, Seoul, Osaka, etc., basically building an international route network covering North America, Europe, Australia, the Middle East, Japan, South Korea, Southeast Asia and other regions.
