On August 9, Da Wan News reporter learned that, as of now, driven by experts and teams stationed at Beijing Anzhen Hospital, the Anhui Hospital of Beijing Anzhen Hospital has carried out a number of new technologies such as heart transplantation and complex congenital heart disease correction, established a standardized "green catheterization room", and filled the technical gap in the province.

"Beijing Anzhen Hospital is one of the first national clinical medicine research centers for cardiovascular diseases." Liu Yuyong, deputy director of Anhui Hospital of Anzhen Hospital affiliated to Capital Medical University, introduced that Beijing Anzhen Hospital has one national key discipline, three national clinical key specialties, and a national and Beijing cardiovascular disease clinical sample resource library that meets international standards (ISBER). It is one of the first medical institutions to obtain the qualification for organ transplant diagnosis and treatment subjects.

"At present, the Anhui Hospital of Beijing Anzhen Hospital has completed Anhui's first heart transplant surgery, transcatheter tricuspid valve replacement surgery, ECMO-assisted TAVR surgery and many other new technologies. It has also initially established a sub-specialty team of cardiac surgery according to the 'Anzhen' model." Liu Yuyong said that in the first half of this year, the hospital's outpatient and emergency visits, discharges, and third and fourth level operating tables increased by 41.8%, 35%, and 24% year-on-year respectively.

At present, the regional medical center project is progressing steadily and is expected to be put into use at the end of 2025 or early 2026. "After the hospital is fully opened, we will strive to build it into a top cardiovascular hospital in East China within three to five years," said Liu Yuyong.
