Thirty years in the east, thirty years in the west.

In October last year, TikTok e-commerce was banned in Indonesia, and Malaysia also announced that it would follow suit, which inevitably made the public worried about the future development of TikTok Shop. More than two months later, TikTok made a comeback and announced a strategic partnership with Indonesian technology group GoTo. Since then, TikTok Shop has been unstoppable and reshaped the e-commerce competition landscape in Southeast Asia.

According to the latest "2024 Southeast Asia E-commerce Report" released by Singapore's Momentum Works Ventures, last year, the total transaction volume of e-commerce platforms in Southeast Asia reached US$114.6 billion, with Shopee maintaining its leading position with a market share of 48%; followed by Lazada with 16.4%; TikTok and Tokopedia each accounted for 14.2%, ranking third.
