"Cultural relics are part of history. By visiting the Henan Museum, I saw the context of China's development," said Adrian Georgiev, Commissioner for Chinese Affairs at the Department of European Coordination and International Relations of the Bulgarian Ministry of Agriculture and Food. Henan is located in the Central Plains and has a long history. It is an important birthplace of Chinese civilization. As a gathering place for Central Plains culture, the Henan Museum is not only the most representative cultural business card of Henan, but also an important platform for promoting cultural exchanges. The delegation walked into the Henan Museum and explored the stories behind the cultural relics in a dialogue with the tour guide.
Henan Museum
"I like this unique museum. It allows me to gain a deeper understanding of the 5,000-year-old Chinese civilization. I am amazed by many of the exhibits." Speaking of his impression of Henan, Sashko Nassev said, "Henan is one of the most populous provinces in China, with a population of nearly 100 million. Henan not only has a booming economy, but also carries a long history and culture. It is one of the birthplaces of the Chinese nation."
Adrian Georgiev, China Affairs Commissioner of the Department of European Coordination and International Relations of the Bulgarian Ministry of Agriculture and Food, told reporters that even though he has been to many places in China, he still dare not claim to understand Chinese culture, because Chinese culture is one of the oldest cultures in the world. Speaking of Shaolin Temple, Adrian Georgiev said: "Shaolin Temple has a very long history and was built around 490 AD. In contrast, Bulgaria's history can be traced back to 681 AD. Although it is one of the oldest countries in Europe, it is about 200 years younger than Shaolin Temple."
New opportunities for cooperation
Over the past decade since the Belt and Road Initiative was proposed, Henan has actively seized the opportunity and, relying on convenient transportation and industrial resources, has strived to develop from the inland Central Plains to the forefront of opening up, maintaining in-depth and multi-field exchanges and trade with many countries in Southeast Europe.
Adrian Georgiev said that China is an important cooperation partner of Bulgaria: "Bulgaria's exports of agricultural products and food to China have tripled compared to 2022, reaching US$517.6 million, accounting for 47% of Bulgaria's total exports to China in 2023. Of course, we also import a lot of agricultural products and food from China." When talking about his views on future trade cooperation, Adrian Georgiev said that he is very much looking forward to establishing friendly and cooperative relations with Henan, strengthening cultural exchanges between Bulgaria and China, and hopes to make new breakthroughs and developments in the field of cooperation.

Amar Mecinovikj, a member of the North Macedonian Parliament, said that he looks forward to future cooperation between North Macedonia and Henan in relevant fields. "There is no doubt that every country hopes to achieve prosperity and sustainable development to ensure that its people enjoy happiness and peace. Therefore, we will cooperate with China in many aspects and hope to continue to deepen our cooperative relationship, not only with the Chinese government, but also with various provinces in China, to promote the happiness of the people of both countries."
"Henan's economy is developing rapidly. It not only has advanced technology, but also has many young people in their prime, so I believe Henan has a promising future," said Sashko Nassev.
