Surbana Jurong Group holds 2024 China-Singapore International Forum on Sustainable Development

In the global wave of exploring sustainable development solutions, the "2024 China-Singapore International Forum on Sustainable Development" came to a successful conclusion in Shanghai on August 6. The forum was hosted by Surbana Jurong China and attracted political and business leaders from China and Singapore to discuss the green and sustainable development of industrial parks and cities.
The forum invited Singapore Consul General in Shanghai Cai Lianghe, Shanghai Green Building Association President Cui Minghua, and China Architecture Society Vice President Cao Jiaming to deliver speeches on behalf of both China and Singapore. Qiao Quansheng, CEO and Board Member of Surbana Jurong Group, extended a warm welcome to the guests and delivered an opening speech, officially kicking off the forum. With the theme of "Intertwined and Shared: Global Sustainable Wave and 'Dual Carbon' Strategy", Qiao Quansheng made a profound interpretation of the global trend of sustainable development and proposed the core role and implementation path of the "dual carbon" strategy in promoting sustainable development.
At the forum, Shengyu Group China released the "White Paper on Sustainable Development Practices in Industrial Parks". Zhang Qi, President of China, analyzed it, proposed five major practice scenarios, and listed the relevant typical needs for each scenario, providing clear guidance and reference for the sustainable development of industrial parks. These five scenarios specifically include green development, industry cultivation, community empowerment, green assets and smart operations. Based on the summary of the development practices and trends of industrial parks, the white paper attempts to build an ESG (environment, society and governance) sustainable competitiveness system for industrial parks.

Later, in a roundtable discussion hosted by Zhang Qi, experts from China and Singapore, including Huang Jiayong, Head of Corporate Services and Executive General Manager of Investment (Data Center) of CapitaLand Investment (China), Shengyu Group (Architecture + City) Senior Executive Director and Global Chief Design Director of Architecture Liang Yingjie, Deputy Director of the Office of the Special Working Group for Cooperation with New Zealand in Jinan and Director of the Industry Promotion Department of the Management Committee of the New and Old Kinetic Energy Conversion Start-up Zone of Jinan Jing Xudong, and General Manager and Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of China National Nuclear Corporation Capital Holdings Co., Ltd. Lin Xuyang jointly discussed the sustainable development trends of cities and parks, provided multi-angle insights for the high-quality development of cities and parks, and explored the potential for future cooperation in this field.

The cooperation between Surbana Jurong Group and Huajian Group will focus on the research of core areas of green ecology, explore innovative paths for low-carbon transformation of buildings, and jointly create "dual carbon" demonstration projects. The cooperation between Surbana Jurong Group and Jinan New and Old Kinetic Energy Conversion Start-up Zone will focus on the green and digital development of Taiping Industrial Park and Cuizhai District in the start-up zone. In addition, the cooperation between Surbana Jurong Group and Shenzhen General Institute of Architecture will be fully launched, covering multiple business areas such as project investment, architectural design, urban (park) planning, green and low-carbon, clean energy, landscape design, etc. Surbana Jurong Group has also reached cooperation with Xinjianyuan Holdings Group and Keppel Limited to jointly study the realization path of zero-carbon buildings and zero-carbon parks based on the Sino-Singapore Green Cyberport.
