Recently, Nanxiong City held an unpacking and handover ceremony for the leaf-eating grass seeds carried by the Shenzhou 16 manned spacecraft, witnessing the sowing, seedling cultivation and industrialization project of the leaf-eating grass seeds carried by the manned spacecraft being implemented in Nanxiong. It also made full use of the advantages of this industry-university-research project to enhance the public's understanding of leaf-eating grass and help the city's agricultural industry develop with high-quality multi-dimensional and multi-level development.
Witnessed by experts and project undertaking enterprises, the sachets containing leaf-eating grass seeds taken out from the return capsule of the Shenzhou 16 manned spacecraft were unpacked, and Yang Kai, general manager of Beijing Shenyu Weilai Aerospace Agricultural Science Research Co., Ltd., handed over the leaf-eating grass space seeds to He Jinlong, general manager of Guangdong Yuanyuan Agricultural Technology Co., Ltd., and Xu Yongsheng, general manager of Guangdong Damei Yuanrong Agricultural Technology Co., Ltd. It is reported that after the leaf-eating grass seeds carried by the manned spacecraft are delivered to the two companies, they will be tested on the land of Quan'an Town, Nanxiong.
Nanxiong is a traditional agricultural county and a major grain-producing county at the national and provincial levels. It has a current arable land area of about 560,000 mu, accounting for about 1/4 of Shaoguan. It has suitable climatic conditions and the soil is "purple soil" with good air permeability. It has successfully won many honors such as the national pilot project for promoting the construction of high-standard farmland in the entire region, the national rural revitalization demonstration county, and the national agricultural modernization demonstration zone creation list. These will provide good conditions for the development of the edible grass industry.
It is reported that leaf-eating grass, also known as "protein grass", is a plant first created in my country. Its appearance fills the gap in the cultivation of excellent varieties of Polygonaceae and Rumex plants in China. It can be developed and developed in diversified fields such as grain, food, health care, medicine, breeding, feed, fertilizer, soil improvement, environmental protection, etc. It has emerged as a new force with its advantages of perennial planting, high yield, high protein, high nutrition, and high value. After nearly three months of research by experts and project undertaking companies, the industrialization planning and development of leaf-eating grass in Nanxiong is divided into three phases. The first phase plans to invest more than 10 million yuan in infrastructure construction in Mixiashui Village, Quan'an Town.
The reporter learned that the implementation of this project will effectively promote the rapid development of the leaf-eating grass industry in Nanxiong City, promote further optimization of the industrial structure, improve the industrial chain, and create jobs for surrounding farmers through land leasing and employment, which is conducive to cultivating a group of new professional farmers with a certain level of science and technology and promoting the continuous increase of farmers' income. The leaf-eating grass project uses the power of aerospace agriculture, aerospace food and domestic food research and development and scientific research units to improve the quality and efficiency of the development of the leaf-eating grass industry, provide intellectual and technological support, and make positive contributions to the creation of the leaf-eating grass brand and Nanxiong's "Hundred Million Project".
