According to foreign media reports, Ukrainian President Zelensky said on August 6 that the Ukrainian government’s goal is to "lay the foundation for a just resolution to the Russia-Ukraine conflict this year."
Zelensky issued a statement on the social media platform reiterating his position of promoting the "peace plan", demanding that Russia withdraw from all territories claimed by Ukraine and restore Ukraine's borders after independence in 1991.
Russia has previously criticized the plan as "unrealistic."
Zelensky also said on the same day that Ukraine has made good progress in the manufacture and use of drones. He said, "Our troops used more drones than the occupiers in July, including long-range drones. Drones have affected the war at the strategic level."
Zelensky also said Ukraine is increasing its production capacity with the help of Western partners and that Ukrainian manufacturers will exceed the contract plan and produce 1 million drones by 2024.
Zelensky and other officials have reportedly stressed the need to increase drone production, and Ukrainian forces have increased long-range attacks on targets inside Russia, including refineries and other infrastructure.
