His hands once tightly grasped the welding gun, drawing solid welds on the hot metal plates; now, these hands appear more often on drawings, injecting new vitality into welding technology with wisdom and experience... He is Zhou Guangcun, a technician at the welding pipe company of the Shaanxi Shenmu Shenxin Power Plant Project Department of China Power Engineering Group Nuclear Power Engineering Co., Ltd. From a high-voltage welder to a welding technician, Zhou Guangcun has not forgotten his original aspirations and is taking root in the northwest desert to pursue the light in his heart.
Back in the summer of 2009, Zhou Guangcun joined China Power Construction Nuclear Power Company and started his career as a high-voltage welder. He has participated in the high-voltage welding work of the company's projects in Tianjin Beijiang, Guangxi Hezhou, Xinjiang Yili and other projects.

With the continuous advancement of power construction technology, Zhou Guangcun realized that welding skills alone were no longer enough to support his career development. So in 2014, he made an important decision in his personal career planning, changing from a high-voltage welder to a welding technician. This change not only meant that he needed to learn more professional knowledge, but also meant that he would take on more responsibilities and missions.
As a technician, Zhou Guangcun's work focus has changed fundamentally. He faces unprecedented challenges. He is not confused or afraid of these unknown challenges. On the contrary, he sees a broader world and more possibilities.
Zhou Guangcun actively asked for advice from senior employees, used his rest time to familiarize himself with the installation and process of equipment on the steam turbine side, studied the drawings, memorized the drawings, carefully learned relevant theoretical knowledge and technical specifications, broadened his knowledge, and devoted his enthusiasm to his work, gradually growing into a skilled and experienced technician.
In the construction of the Shenmu Shenxin Thermal Power Project in Shaanxi Province, Zhou Guangcun played an important role in welding technology management. He was also responsible for the welding of boilers and steam turbines for two 660-megawatt units. Due to the tight construction schedule, overtime work has become his daily routine.
Despite the tight schedule and heavy workload, Zhou Guangcun still led the new employees to familiarize themselves with the process and technical briefings, imparting his experience and knowledge to the new employees without reservation. He patiently guided the new employees in practical operations, corrected their mistakes and deficiencies in a timely manner, helped them grow rapidly, and cultivated batches of excellent reserve talents for the power construction industry.
No pain, no gain. In 2018, Zhou Guangcun was named an outstanding youth of the company. In 2019, the new high-efficiency constant temperature insulation barrel he participated in developing won the first prize of the company's quality management team activity results.
