On August 4, the 37th Popular Film Hundred Flowers Awards ceremony was held in Chengdu. Yu Shi won the Best Newcomer Award for his outstanding performance in "The Legend of the Gods Part I: Chaoge Fengyun".

This year is Yu Shi's seventh year in the film industry. He said he felt a little ashamed to win the Best Newcomer Award after seven years. "I like a saying very much: every outstanding person has a period of silence. That period is when you put in a lot of effort but get no results. We call it taking root."

After the award ceremony, Yu Shi once again looked back at the seven years of waiting in an interview with reporters. "There was anxiety during this process, but it was also a kind of precipitation. This is a very valuable experience for my future acting or other work."

Yu Shi said, "I also hope that all young people can be patient. Having a dream is more important than anything else. Stick to your dream, choose a career you love, and work hard for it. As long as you have a dream and are willing to persevere, you will eventually achieve your dream."

Holding up the Best Newcomer Award in Chengdu, Yu Shi said, "I particularly like the city of Chengdu and its climate. Last year, the roadshow for Investiture of the Gods also started in Chengdu, and there are more and more 'tap water' (Internet slang, referring to a group of people who volunteer to promote an event because they love and appreciate it from the bottom of their hearts, or involuntarily or with enthusiasm) and many people have spoken out for our film. I feel that I have good luck every time I am in Chengdu!"

Red Star News reporter Peng Jing reported that according to the organizer
