This summer's most anticipated movie is probablyWhite Snake: Floating LifeNot only because I am a cartoon fan, but also because I am quite fond of the series of Light Chaser Animation. The "White Snake" series has reached the third part, which I definitely cannot miss.

After watching the preview over the weekend, I was completely relieved: this movie is watchable, it's good, and I can go for it without worry.

Although "White Snake: Floating Life" did not give people any surprises in terms of the story and the drama was very conservative and cautious, the film also did not make any major mistakes. The narrative was smooth and the characters were likable. Coupled with the excellent production standards of Light Chaser Animation and the beautiful scenery of Hangzhou, the whole film was very comfortable to watch.

I think the best thing the film did was to level the relationship between Xu Xian and Xiao Bai. Under the premise that the big framework and ending remain unchanged, this story is consideredNo regrets.

[Friendly reminder: There will be spoilers below. ]

As is my usual habit, I would like to first praise the production of the film.

The first impression that White Snake: Floating Life left on me was very good, because it quickly moved the plot from the ending of White Snake: Origin to 500 years later, when Xiaobai took Xiaoqing to Hangzhou to pursue Xu Xian, the reincarnation of Axuan. The magnificent West Lake and Hangzhou scenery added a lot to this marriage.

I have to say that the creators really understand it. The best beautiful views of West Lake, such as the Misty West Lake and the First Snow on West Lake (including the Broken Bridge and the Three Pools Mirroring the Moon), were all included in the film. In addition, the dragon boat race on the Qiantang River and the people living in Qiaoshui in the old city were also beautifully painted.

I also noticed that the film referenced the architectural layout of Hangzhou during the Song Dynasty. When Xiaoqing and Xiaobai were chasing the mouse demon, they chased him all the way from the west of the city to the Nanxing Bridge in the east of the city...

I sawHangzhou is a city full of life but not too worldly., which gave me a feeling both familiar and fresh while I was in Hangzhou.

As the units of thanks, Zhejiang, Hangzhou and Shangcheng District Culture and Tourism, you really have good intentions. "White Snake: Floating Life" can be used as a promotional video for Hangzhou tourism.

As forThere aren't many action and special effects scenes in the movie, but they are used very accurately.

This time, "White Snake: Floating Life" is just like the protagonist Xiaobai, trying its best to integrate itself into the mortal world. The overall performance is a "low-magic world". There are not many scenes of casting spells and fighting, and they completely serve the plot.

While ensuring that the audience is aware that this is first and foremost a story of "The Legend of the White Snake", the film also continues and innovates on the animation's own characteristics, such as Xiaobai and Xiaoqing's transformation into giant snakes, Baoqingfang opening a troupe in Hangzhou, and Fahai's demon-suppressing magic weapon being a golden-haired tiger whose prototype was a rosary, etc.

The above design is both solemn and humorous, and also incorporates many elements of folk legends and operas, making it very ornamental.

Taking a step back, at least this time Xu Xian's modeling finally has some edges and corners, and is pleasing to the eye, unlike A Xuan's passerby face in "White Snake: Origin"...

Next, let me talk about some of the points in the movie that touched me the most.

After Xiaobai married Xu Xian, she once decided to be an ordinary woman and stop using magic. Xiaoqing sneered at this move: She has thousands of years of Taoist skills and can easily make life better. Wouldn't it be ridiculous if she didn't use magic?

Afterwards, Xiaobai slowly accepted Xiaoqing, because Xu Xian was a kind man who was too good to protect himself. If she didn't secretly protect her husband, she would not be able to survive.

This also implies that their relationship was unequal from the beginning. No matter how loving they were, lies were an objective hidden danger, just like Xiaoqing and Xiaobai were destined to use magic and would sooner or later attract Fahai, which could not be changed.

Another thing that I found interesting was Xiaoqing’s role.

Compared to Xiaobai, who has to go through the "mortal world", Xiaoqing, who is resolute, free and easy, and unwilling to be bound by unnecessary interpersonal relationships, is the image that girls like nowadays - but in "White Snake: Floating Life", she finally entered the world of mortals.

At first, Xiaoqing gave up her spiritual practice and played around in the human world just to accompany Xiaobai to fulfill his wish. She had an indifferent attitude towards Xu Xian and other people, or rather, she had a sense of scrutiny and distance towards them.

But as time goes by, Xiaoqing, who doesn't know etiquette and worldly ways, gradually integrates into the family and the mundane world around her. She teases Xiaobai and Xu Xian every day, and calls her brother-in-law Li Gongfu a brother.Although everything in the human world is tiny, insignificant and fleeting, it is far more interesting than the lonely mountains and steep hills where one practices.

It was precisely because of this change that Xiaoqing agreed to go on a blind date with Li Gongfu. Although she had very high standards, if a man as imposing as Fahai really came, she would probably be interested in getting married...

Of course, Xiaoqing had always been in a try-it-out attitude towards "entering the world of mortals". Later, when Fahai made trouble, she immediately retreated back to her comfort zone as a demon.

Apart from this, there is nothing else that stands out in the content of White Snake: Floating Life.In terms of story and characters alone, the film is indeed lackluster.

to be honest,The plot of "White Snake: Floating Life" this time is very much like an upgraded version of "White Snake: Origin". There is no essential change in the framework. In addition, the film does not dare to make large-scale changes to the basic context of "The Legend of White Snake". That's why I said at the beginning that it is conservative, cautious, and without surprises.

However, on this basis, the film still tried to add some harmless new things. For example, Baoqing Fangzhu, who does all kinds of business and has all kinds of talents, became the key figure in continuing the fate of Xiaobai and Xu Xian.

PS: Although Little Fox charges a high price for its business, its service is considerate, quality and quantity are guaranteed, and it is fair to everyone. If I want to do important transactions in the future, I will also recommend Bao Qing Fang.

Finally, let’s talk about the performance of the two protagonists in the film.

Due to the aforementioned "lack of change", there really isn't much to say about Xiaobai and Xu Xian's characters, as well as their relationship... but that doesn't mean it's not touching. In fact, the film is quite entertaining.

In recent years, there have been more and more voices of dissatisfaction and even malice towards Xu Xian, just because he is an incompetent mortal who cannot protect his wife and does not take his relationship with Xiaobai seriously.

Even if I don't quite agree with this point of view, I can't help but pay attention to it when watching the movie...The best thing about "White Snake: Floating Life" is that it makes up for this regret to a great extent: when dealing with the misunderstanding between the two people, the film did not bother anyone to explain, but let the parties directly express their feelings face to face with actions, and they did a good job.

There are no more secrets between Xiaobai and Xu Xian, and both sides are on an equal footing.

Xu Xian was willing to exhaust his true energy to save his wife, which was enough to live up to the fate and oath between him and Xiaobai in past and present lives; the pregnant Xiaobai also convinced Fahai with the higher "Way of Heaven", and after giving birth to the child, she decided to make a scene in Jinshan Temple to rescue her husband.

It's not love-brained, it's not unrequited love, there's no foolish devotion, there's no resigned betrayal - this time Xu Xian and Xiaobai are truly running towards each other and live up to each other.

There's really no need to nitpick about an ending like this without any regrets.

If we dig deeper and ask whether Xiaobai's journey into the mortal world is necessary and worthwhile, she has expressed the same idea at the beginning and end of the film:Worth it or not, I remember it.

"White Snake: Floating Life" has come to an end.Been here, loved it
