From August 2 to 5, the Chinese and Tanzanian land forces participating in the "Peace and Solidarity-2024" joint exercise used joint counter-terrorism operations as the exercise topic. The exercise directorate focused on training in analyzing and judging the situation, making joint decisions, formulating combat plans, and organizing combat coordination, with a focus on testing the joint combat planning capabilities of the Chinese and Tanzanian participating forces.

Exercises are the highest stage of military training. The exercise directorate usually uses scenario scenarios to induce participating troops to conduct exercises on combat command and combat operations. For this joint exercise, China and Tanzania selected elite forces to form a joint directorate, and in the early stage, they distinguished the three levels of the exercise joint directorate, joint command and actual troops for precise docking, and organized map simulation and adaptive training in advance.

Zhou Wei, Chinese troops participating in the "Peace and Solidarity 2024" joint exercise:Based on the full communication with Tanzanian personnel in the early stage, the background and action situation of the exercise were constructed. During the exercise, we flexibly organized and implemented it in the form of planned guidance and ad hoc guidance, guiding the troops to strengthen joint command and disposal, strengthen the coordination of actual military operations, and ensure the effectiveness of the entire exercise.

In this joint exercise, China and Tanzania have selected 20 people to organize a joint command, which includes six groups: intelligence reconnaissance, combat planning, combat control, and combat support. In view of the differences in tactical concepts and command methods between the commanders and staff of the two armies, the two sides classified them according to command modules and command seats to strengthen joint command capability training.

During the training, the Chinese and Tanzanian militaries also strengthened exchanges on command and support methods, and conducted research and discussion on the construction and use of command information flow, tactical communication organization, and surveying and mapping, navigation, meteorology and hydrology and other information support elements.

Wang Guofeng, Chinese troops participating in the "Peace and Solidarity-2024" joint exercise:We focus on strengthening business exchanges with the Tanzanian military. Based on the unfamiliar territory and complex battlefield environment abroad, we actively research and innovate new ideas, methods and models for joint information assurance. Through mutual learning and reference in the past few days, we have further improved the information assurance capabilities of our two militaries in diversified operations.

China-Tanzania maritime live-fire exercise ends

On the morning of August 5th local time, the naval fleet participating in the China-Tanzania "Peace and Solidarity-2024" joint exercise completed the rehearsal of all maritime live-fire phase courses and returned to the Port of Dar es Salaam, Tanzania.

The maritime actual-troop phase of the joint exercise was based on the maintenance of maritime transport safety in the waters east of Tanzania. The Chinese warships Wuzhishan and Hefei and four Tanzanian patrol boats formed a fleet and conducted drills on five subjects: main gun firing, joint search and rescue, counter-terrorism and counter-piracy, spot checks and arrests, and joint patrols.

Lei Mingzhe, member of the Peace and Unity 2024 mission team:Before the maritime phase began, both sides conducted action simulations to fully refine the key points of the action and made adequate preparations for the maritime actual combat phase. Through multi-regional and multi-subject maritime phase exercises, both sides had more in-depth exchanges in the professional field.
