Compared with the global smartphone survey report, domestic users may pay the most attention to the domestic report. Everyone wants to know how domestic brands survive in China, and whether the domestic smartphone landscape has changed or not after Huawei's strong return.

On August 5, Techinsights officially released the 2024 Q2 domestic smartphone survey report. The report shows that in the past Q2, the overall domestic smartphone shipments were 67.4 million units, a year-on-year increase of 5%, indicating that the domestic smartphone market is recovering step by step. The rankings that everyone is most concerned about are as follows:

Champion: vivo, with shipments of 13.1 million units and a market share of 19.4%, a year-on-year increase of 13.9%;

Runner-up: OPPO, with shipments of 11.2 million units and a market share of 16.6%, down 8.2% year-on-year;

Third place: Huawei, with shipments of 10.4 million units and a market share of 15.4%, a year-on-year increase of 56.8%;

Fourth: Honor, with shipments of 10.3 million units and a market share of 15.3%, down 4.6% year-on-year;

Fifth: Xiaomi, with shipments of 10 million units and a market share of 14.8%, a year-on-year increase of 16.3%.

From the overall ranking, it is similar to the other three companies. Domestic products have concentrated their efforts to squeeze Apple out of the top five. This is the pattern that domestic mobile phones should have. Our domestic consumers should be the first to buy domestic brand products, instead of letting Apple become the number one brand as before. However, the performance of the top five is different. Vivo, Huawei, and Xiaomi have increased year-on-year, among which Huawei has the largest growth and Xiaomi ranks second; for some reason, OPPO and Honor have shown a downward trend year-on-year. Of course, except for vivo's slightly larger leading advantage, the gap between the other four brands is not really widened, and they all belong to the same level of brands.

In addition, the report specifically gave Apple's shipments as 9.5 million units and a market share of 14%. Strangely, it did not give year-on-year data. It seems that Apple is not far behind domestic brands, and is only 500,000 units away from Xiaomi, which ranks fifth. Therefore, domestic brands should be careful about Apple. Once it uses a price reduction strategy, its sales will immediately soar.
