According to Fast Technology on August 6, BYD has been on the Fortune Global 500 list for three consecutive years, jumping from 212th last year to 143rd, becoming the automaker with the largest annual ranking increase.

In 2023, BYD's four major industries worked together to achieve annual revenue of 602.32 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 42%, and various core operating data continued to rise.

BYD's new energy vehicle sales set a new record, with total sales of 3.024 million vehicles throughout the year, and for the first time ranked among the top ten best-selling automobile brands in the world, becoming the first Chinese automobile brand to be shortlisted in the top ten in the 70 years of China's automobile industry.


From January to July 2024, BYD has sold a total of 1.947 million new energy vehicles, and once again ranked among the top ten best-selling automobile brands in the world in the first half of this year, ranking eighth, with its international influence accelerating.

This year, BYD's overseas expansion has accelerated. As of July, BYD's overseas sales have exceeded 233,000 vehicles, close to last year's full-year overseas sales. Currently, BYD's new energy vehicles have spread across 88 countries and regions and more than 400 cities around the world.

On July 4, 2024, BYD's 8 millionth new energy vehicle Dolphin rolled off the production line in Thailand, marking the official start of production at BYD's Thailand factory.

In addition, BYD also has passenger car production bases in Brazil, Hungary, Uzbekistan and other countries to accelerate the globalization of the industrial chain.

BYD's R&D investment in 2023 was nearly 40 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 97%. Its cumulative R&D investment has reached 140 billion yuan.

As of now, BYD has applied for more than 48,000 patents worldwide, has more than 30,000 authorized patents, and has more than 102,800 R&D personnel.
