The main line of the eastern section of the North-South Corridor (Rehe Road-Shuangyang Road) was opened to traffic at 22:00 on August 2. This means that the main line of the North-South Corridor, the east-west traffic artery of northern Shanghai, has been fully connected, which is of great significance to improving the urban traffic network, easing road traffic pressure, and improving the level of urban development.

In order to ensure that the North-South Corridor East Line Tunnel can provide customers with high-quality communication services as soon as it opens to traffic, Shanghai Mobile intervened in advance and formulated a detailed tunnel overall signal coverage construction plan. In the early stage of the tunnel opening, the front-line network staff overcame difficulties such as high temperatures and hot underground tunnel environment, worked continuously for many days and nights, and simultaneously completed network construction, on-site testing, on-site optimization and other tasks.

Shanghai Mobile has completed a large number of verification tests to improve the mobile phone signal switching chain in the tunnel, ensuring continuous coverage of mobile network signals, stable data service perception, and no abnormal voice events. At the same time, a refined network optimization plan was formulated for the 10 entrances and exits of the tunnel to ensure smooth switching in and out of the tunnel. In addition, the implementation of 4/5G network expansion has effectively supported the needs of large concurrent calls and comprehensive information services, providing excellent perception for citizens while also laying a solid network foundation for the subsequent 5G-A Internet of Vehicles business applications in tunnel environments.

After the indoor subway of the East Line Tunnel of the North-South Corridor was opened and optimized, it was tested that the average 5G downlink rate was 700Mbps and the average uplink rate was 84Mbps, with good overall coverage and user perception.
