On August 4, according to foreign media gsmarena, Samsung Electronics launched a series of new products at its Unpacked event last month, including Galaxy Watch Ultra, Galaxy Buds3 and Galaxy Buds3 Pro. However, the designs of these products were accused of being very similar to Apple's Watch Ultra, AirPods 3 and AirPods Pro 2, sparking widespread controversy.

Samsung Electronics Executive Chairman Lee Jae-yong expressed strong dissatisfaction with the incident and took action against TM Roh, head of the mobile division, according to South Korean media reports. Lee Jae-yong reportedly personally intervened after the controversy and asked the mobile division to change future plans to avoid similar incidents from happening again.

The incident created tension within the company, where Lee is usually described as mild-tempered and not easily angered. However, this time the situation was different due to media reports on the similarities between Samsung's new products and Apple's.

Samsung's Galaxy Watch series has previously been known for its unique circular design, but the circular appearance of the new Watch Ultra clearly overlaps with Apple's design. In addition, Buds3 is Samsung's first headset to use a rod-style design, a design originally introduced by Apple and has been adopted by many companies.

More worryingly, the Galaxy Buds 3 Pro also had quality control issues, with users reporting that the silicone ear tips easily tore when removed.
