BEWS2024 kicked off the offline qualifiers in Dortmund, Germany on August 2. This offline qualifier attracted a total of 92 players from all over the world. After a fierce battle, six players, Soin, Leon, Laby, Lawliet, PaTo (Dark Night Brazil) and Jens (Dark Night Chile), stood out and advanced to the main competition.

The BEWS2024 main competition will officially start at 18:00 on August 3. At present, the matchups for the top 12 have been announced, with the two Chinese players, Romance and Colorful, being divided into different halves.

Romantic's opponent in the first round is Laby. HvU is Romantic's strong point, and it should be a good group to meet UD players in the first round. However, Romantic's winning rate against Laby is not high (WSB lost to Laby 1-2 last month), and BO3 matches are more accidental, so this round of competition is still full of suspense.

If they can beat Laby, then the second round opponent of Romance will most likely be FoCuS. The record of Romance and FoCuS this year is very close, 55-50, and the winner will depend on the players' on-the-spot performance.

On the other hand, Color faced a strong opponent Sok in the first round. In 2024, Color played against Sok 11 times, with Color slightly at a disadvantage with a score of 5-6. In the last two matches, Color suffered two consecutive losses. In this match, Color has a high probability of falling into the loser group.

Once in the loser group, Cai Se's opponent will be Lawliet. In the last 9 matches between the two sides, Lawliet won 8 times. To some extent, Luo Jiang can be regarded as Cai Se's nemesis. From this perspective, Cai Se's group this time is really dangerous. If he is not careful, he may lose two games in a row and be eliminated.

Fortunately, Cai Se has been in good form recently (he just defeated Happy a few days ago). Even if the group is difficult, I believe he can defeat the strong enemy.

According to the rules, the top four in the first stage will advance to the second stage. We hope that both Chinese players can advance to the semi-finals.
