On August 2, the well-known data research company Counterpoint once again released a report on the Q2 global smartphone market. This report is more complete, detailed and contains more content.

1. Ranking by shipment volume

Samsung ranks first with a market share of 19%, Apple ranks second with a market share of 16%. Xiaomi ranks third with a market share of 15%. OPPO and vivo both have 9% shipments, so the market share of these two brothers is tied. In fact, vivo ranks slightly higher.

This data is not much different from the previous data. Everyone already knows the specific ranking, so I won’t explain it one by one. It should be noted that the report specifically mentioned that Xiaomi is the brand with the largest growth, with a year-on-year growth of up to 27%.

2. Ranking by shipment amount

In terms of shipments, Apple is far ahead with a market share of 42%. Samsung is still ranked second with a market share of 16%, Xiaomi is ranked third with a market share of 7%, followed by OPPO with 7%, and vivo with 6%.

Shipment value is the value of shipments, but it is not the same as sales. Apple ranks first and is far ahead because the price of iPhone is much higher than other brands.

3. Average selling price

In the second quarter of the past, the average selling price of smartphones worldwide was $325. Apple also ranked first, with an average selling price of $859. Other brands were no match. The average selling price of Samsung phones was $279, the average selling price of OPPO phones was $240, the average selling price of vivo phones was $211, and the average selling price of Xiaomi phones was $161. Of course, since the report only analyzes the top five brands in the world, we cannot see the average selling price of Huawei phones. I believe that among domestic brands, Huawei should be the highest, followed by OPPO, and Xiaomi is the lowest as expected.

In addition, the market of over 800 USD has grown in the second quarter, with the market share increasing by two percentage points. The best-selling models in the world are still between 100 and 39 USD, and the sales of low-end models have further declined, down one percentage point year-on-year. The market of 400-79 USD has remained the same year-on-year.
