The Municipal Economic and Information Commission recently announced the list of Shanghai's characteristic industrial clusters for small and medium-sized enterprises in 2024. A total of 11 clusters in the city were included in the list, among which the Xuhui District Inspection, Testing and Certification Cluster was successfully selected.

Following the successful creation of a municipal-level cluster of the digital entertainment industry last year, this year Xuhui District focused on industry segments, created a special industry cluster for inspection, testing and certification, and promoted the coordinated development of large, medium and small enterprises.

The Shanghai Xuhui District Inspection, Testing and Certification Small and Medium Enterprises Characteristic Industrial Cluster is located in the Caohejing Development Zone of Xuhui District, Shanghai. It is operated and managed by the Caohejing New Technology Development Zone Development Corporation. There are 230 upstream and downstream inspection and testing enterprises of various types, with a total output value of 20.46 billion yuan, 6 related listed companies, 57 high-tech enterprises, and 2 national-level specialized and new "little giants". The number of valid invention patents per 10,000 SMEs in the cluster reaches 710, and the number of PCT international patent applications by SMEs reaches 262. A unique innovation-driven inspection, testing and certification industrial cluster has been formed around the industrial chain and innovation chain, presenting a cluster pattern of organic agglomeration and synergistic symbiosis of scientific research institutes, state-owned enterprises and private institutions.

It is reported that Xuhui District will continue to focus on industrial characteristics, strive to promote the integration of large, medium and small enterprises, accelerate the gradient cultivation of cluster industries, create a good development ecological environment for small and medium-sized enterprises, and build a domestically renowned inspection and testing cluster brand.
