IT Home reported on August 1 that a new drone Neo, which DJI is about to launch, was leaked. Based on the exposed photos, packaging boxes, parameters and Walmart's pricing information, this drone is expected to become DJI's lightest and cheapest full-featured drone.

The leaked Walmart product page shows that the DJI Neo Fly More package is priced at only $329 (IT Home Note: Currently about RMB 2,385). Considering that the package usually includes an extra battery, charger, and shoulder bag, the starting price of the standalone drone may be even lower.

The retail packaging photos posted by whistleblower Jasper Ellens on social media and information from the FCC database further revealed the parameters of the drone, which will support 4K video shooting.

Weighing only 135 grams, this drone is expected to be DJI's lightest consumer drone to date, lighter than the 249-gram DJI Mini SE. It is worth mentioning that the Neo is equipped with propeller guards to improve the safety of indoor use. In addition, the fuselage is also equipped with a button to switch flight modes with one click.

Although the "Fly More" package includes a remote control, the box mentions multiple control methods and says that the drone can be handheld for takeoff and landing. Combined with the mode switch button on the fuselage and the "AI subject tracking" function, users may be able to start the drone and take selfies without a remote control. At present, information about battery life and wireless transmission distance has not been revealed.

Unlike the DJI Mini series, the Neo does not seem to be able to fold into a smaller size, and its shape is closer to the DJI Avata FPV drone. This may mean that the Neo can be flown in the first person perspective by connecting to an Avata compatible headset.

As for the release date, Ellens speculates that if the product photos are true, DJI may release the Neo drone within a few weeks.
