According to Fast Technology on August 1, Counterpoint released India's Q2 2024 smartphone shipment report.

The report shows that India's smartphone shipments in Q2 2024 fell 2% year-on-year, mainly due to factors such as heat waves, seasonal downturns and slowing demand.

Specifically in terms of brands, Xiaomi returned to the top of the list with a shipment share of 18.9%, followed by vivo with a share of 18.8%, and Samsung fell to third place with a share of 18.1%.

Analysts said heat waves in various regions led to a decline in foot traffic in offline channels, and consumers prioritized electrical appliances such as air conditioners and refrigerators, thus delaying their smartphone purchase plans. This reduction in demand led to the accumulation of inventory.

In terms of high-end mobile phones (high-end mobile phones refer to models priced above 45,000 Indian rupees), India's high-end model shipments in Q2 2024 increased by 24% year-on-year.

In terms of mobile phone shipments, Samsung leads the market with a 25% share, while vivo and Apple rank second and third respectively.
