According to the announcement of Huawei Developer Community, the third phase of recruitment for HarmonyOS NEXT Beta developers and pioneer users has officially started.

The supported models are the same as the previous batch, including Mate 60, Mate 60 Pro, Mate 60 Pro+, Mate 60 RS Ultimate Design, Mate X5, Mate X5 Collector's Edition, MatePad Pro 13.2-inch, and MatePad Pro 13.2-inch Collector's Edition.

The recruitment period is from July 31, 2024 to August 7, 2024 at 15:00. Each real-name account has three opportunities to answer questions, and the passing score is 80 points. The number of places has been greatly increased to 30,000.

After submitting the application, it is estimated that the review will be completed within 3-7 working days, and the specific time shall be subject to the actual review time.

Official reminder: The HarmonyOS NEXT Beta version update will adopt the new HarmonyOS system architecture. After the upgrade, some applications may be incompatible, and some data may not be inherited and saved. Please be sure to back up your device data through backup machine backup, PC backup, cloud backup, etc. before updating.

In addition, since the HarmonyOS NEXT Beta version is not a commercial version, the experience is different from the official version.

HarmonyOS NEXT is also known as pure-blooded Hongmeng. It is a full-stack self-developed system base that abandons the traditional AOSP code and only supports the Hongmeng kernel and Hongmeng system applications, further improving the system fluency and security.

According to the plan, the first wave of public beta testing of HarmonyOS NEXT will be launched in August, the first batch of official versions and the second wave of test versions will be released in the fourth quarter, and more models will be available next year.
